I seem to get no post delivered for a few days, then get a load delivered in one go.

I've also had a Congestion fine go missing - which is now to the stage of having to get a solicitor or court officials signature to contest it.

Funny - In 50 years of using Royal Mail and, more recently, their timed services and ParcelForce, I have never knowingly lost a letter or package either sending or sent.

Boys let me put you in the picture, yes I'm a postman but I'm no thiving **** Recently RM started a new start time policy, guys that do delivereries in town use to start at 5am, now they do not start till 6.30am, If you happen to live in a rural area the rural guys do not start now till 7am, so basiclly you are looking at one and half to two hours differance in starting time, RM however have not put into place any programme to get your mail especially Special deliveries I.E. 9o'clock specials and 1'oclock specials delivered on time so the customer is suffering, and to make matters worse the later starting times means the guys do not leave the office somedays until nearly 10am, basiciclly to put it in a nutshell RM could'nt give a toss about customer service or care, those of you who have lost special items you can track them as long as you have the number on the Royal Mail website, I can honestly say in 20 years of working for them this has to be the darkest days Hope this helps.
Cheers
Colin

Frequently have problems with them through work, we send between 20-50 letters a day using them, usually we expect 80-90% of those letters to actually get where they should be going.

I was just going to post about Royal Mail as I have been complaining to them and getting nowhere. I have not been receiving my business post until 4pm most days. Royal Mail complaints people have acknowledged this is a issue and offered me compensation of stamps. I accepted, they never arrived.....

Today they phoned and I am now fuming. They have told me I can have my post in the morning by 10:30..but.. I have to pay them £2850. They were particularly pleased when they told me, but that is only £7 per day.

Needless to say I told them to go forth and multiply.

What are we paying a stamp for if they now want us to pay to have it delivered.

The sooner they go under the better. and to all the workers who will be wanting redundancy. Tough. you are all happily working to RULE and bydoing this are making your company go down the pan.

And before everyone jumps up and down, I worked for Royal Mail and I know what it is like in the sorting offices and the majority are lazy ***** and want money for nothing. I have seen this with my own eyes it's not heresay.
90% of Royal Mail workers would not surives 1month in the Real World

It seems like it is worse in certain areas.

I live in Redhill, and the post there is awful. Doesn't get delivered untill 13.00-14.00, and takes 3-4 days minimum for first class to be delivered.

However, my girlfriend only lives 5 miles down the road, and her post is delivered before 10.00, and is first class normally arrives the next day.

Last year I never got mail for about 6 weeks.

I started to think it was being knicked by a neighbour. I'd phoned Evo & f1 Racing magazines complaining I'd not recieved my subscription copies.

Low & Behold 1 day my mail box was crambed full of all my mail. 2 copies of Evo & F1 racing.

I have been there when the IB (investigatiging branch) have taken guys away, one guy was fidderling overtime for 18 months YES 18 MONTHS and they let it go on, when the case came too court the IB got their court dates mixed up and failed to appear, the guy in question was gonna do 5 years, BUT because the IB got it wrong and FAILED to attend court on the date the judge had no option but to let the guy go free, because no evidence was given against him
so you tell me who has got it **** about face, no serving postman/woman wants anything to do with someone who steals from RM it's like being a police officer the chances are their BUT you never take them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers

They went first class.

We send several hundred letters each day, so recorded just isn't possible for all of them.

Ditto. A guy I bought some stuff from claims he has sent it 1st class recorded on 25th March, it's now the 29th and no sign of it.
Saying that our post around our area was as late as being delivered as of 2:30pm last Thursday.
