Hi all i`m new here, good forum btw.
I have recently registered with amazon and so far i havn`t bought anything, ive just found something i am interested in but the seller is a new seller and doesn`t have any feedback.
His description of the item is "used-Like new", am i protected if i buy through Amazon and what happens if i buy this item and it never turns up or what happens if its not as described when i recieve it ?
From looking around amazon why do you get a lot of vague, short descriptions and no photos of the actual item a lot of the time ?

If its not amazon direct then the deal is with the trader themselves not Amazon
Amazon will help if they can to reolve any disputes but they arent that fast at doing it, and ultimately will request you deal with the trader direct

Cheers geezer, thats the answer i was after. So basically your still open to being ripped off like on fleecebay if you deal outside of Amazon themselves with a 3rd party.

I only know because I had had cause to dsipute a sale on Amazon
Bascially they said there wasnt much they could do, as the trader had decided not to honour my purchase (incorrectly priced item
) but they wanted to assure me that they do take their marketplace serious as it reflects on them if a trade goes bad
I havent read any of the T & C's over disputes but it was not too dissimilar to ebay trying to contact Amazon, although they did seem a little more helpful but not that different

As I said, I am not disputing your PoV, advice or experience however, my advice to the OP would be to ask Amazon the same questions. If there was a dispute and the OP contacted Amazon stating that "someone on Scoobynet said blah blah blah...." they'd laugh.
