Looking at remortgage to HSBC
Anybody recently took a mortgage with HSBC?
What do you think about the deal below?
6. What you will need to pay each month Monthly payments These payments are based on a loan amount of £112000 and assume that the mortgage will start on 27/03/2008.
8. What fees must you pay? Fee amount Fees payable to HSBC (not refundable)
Fixed Rate Booking Fee (payable on application)
Completion Fee (payable when the mortgage is drawn down)
£499
£30
Other Fees
Valuation Fee (non-refundable and payable to the valuation company on application. This fee includes a £35 administration fee which is payable to HSBC). You may have to pay other taxes or costs in addition to any fees shown here.

- 213 monthly payment at a variable rate, currently 6.5%

Check out the other recent thread re remortgaging.
I believe the best current deal is First Direct, 5 years fixed at 5.29% (doesn't matter what it goes to after that, as you just move again!)
Altyernatively they'll do 10 years fixed at 5.49% IIRC...
Woolwich do a 10 yr fixed at 5.29% - the fees are higher, but works out fine if you want to stay for 10 years.
