Ticket Touts on Ebay

Ticket Touts on Ebay
Just went on ticketmaster at 9.10am for 4 NBA tickets (sons birtday) at the O2 - courtside were £150-£250.......ALL gone!
Look on ebay and tickets with a £150 face value are up at £300!!!
I dont go to things like this much so dont regular concert goers (who must see this all the time) go nuts? You'd think that, as tickets are non-transferable, it would be real easy to stop people buying 10 tos tick on ebay 5 mins later?
(Now booking tickets to Maddison Square Garden as its almost as cheap to fly to NY anyway!)
should add - these tickets were released at 9.00am today!

Normal practice although a concert will only cost around £50 for top seats (or standing at a concert) so its not as bad as you'd normally think. Although stuff like festivals do cost a fortune like your NBA stuff.
Yes its fustrating but people pay is hence why they do it.

Personally I don't see the problem. There's obviously a market for over priced tickets otherwise nobody would buy them and the touts would go out of business.

PRETTY SURE THAT SELLING A TICKET FOR ABOVE THE FACE VALUE (SUCH AS USING BUY IT NOW) IS TOUTING AND AS SUCH VERY NAUGHTY.
HOWEVER, DOING IT AS AN AUCTION, SO YOU HAVEN'T ACTUALLY ASKED FOR MORE THAN THE FACE VALUE, SOMEONE HAS INSTEAD 'OFFERED' YOU THAT PRICE IS OK.
THAT'S WHY EBAY IS SUCH A PAIN FOR THIS SORT OF THING.
I ALSO SUGGESTED TRYING SEATWAVE.COM THEY HAVE THE NBA ON THE FRONT PAGE.

But not certain?

You can't tout football tickets, others are fair game, as they should be (but so should football).

Rules like this have been a big help to football violence. Most clubs will insist on registration etc before you can get a ticket and to be honest it has worked well with violence dropping big style.
Should definately be illegal and should apply to all tickets.
There should also be a cap on 'admin' and postage fees from agents to stop companies with a monopoly exploiting buyers. At least ebay saw sense on this with Live 8

Ive sold tickets on Ebay twice, both times for good reason too - I got deployed. I left them to run and both times they went for twice the paid price. I did put a buy it now price of £2 less than the paid price but people took the risk of getting them on the cheap.
