Which console?
Firstly, apologies for the rambling thread:
I am in the market for a games console for my sons 6th Birthday.
Whilst he will be the main user, my wife and I would like to use it occasionally.
He has a Nintendo DS, and enjoys Mario. He likes to play on his V-Smile, but he is getting too big for it and feels that most of the games are a bit babyish.
I used to be into consoles a long long time ago (I've had most built up to the sega megadrive - ataris, nintendo NES SNES, dreamcast, sega master system, mega drive, etc etc.
I also have a PS2 that I have used about 10 hours (my wife bought if for my brithday when it first came out). I have about 20 games for that and I would probably like to play them some day.
Some other factors I'm thinking about:
Wireless online
Blu-ray / HD
games content / releases
content management
availability
any more I should worry about???
Price isn't really an issue (he has lots of cash presents from family to spend).
His birthday is a week from today.
So, with all of that in mind, which console should I buy?
Cheers,
C

I assume you've done Scalextrics, Hornby, RC car of some sort?
Failing that Transformers so you get to play with them when he's in bed
If you must though get a PS3.

If you really want a console for your son then I'd suggest a Wii. Lot's of family based games available for that, plus it does tend to get you to excercise more the a PS3 or Xbox-360 would.
I know if I was six, I'd really love a Tamiya R/C car. They are great on two levels, you get to spend time together building it, then you can go and teach him how to drive it.
