Default Florida theme park tickets

Hi all,

We're off to Florida soon & it's been 15 years since my last visit so I'm after some advice please?

Is it better to buy tickets out there for all the main parks or should I buy on-line beforehand?

Anyone know the cheapest way?

Cheers!

we always use DisneyWorld - unofficial guide to your disneyworld vacation, resorts, parks, rides and dining but buy from the usa site not the UK one as they are a fair bit cheaper from the usa and only a few dollars postage

Buying on the gate is not that expensive, and you can get your fast track passes at the same time.

You can get some good deals in the UK, and multi park tickets, but they can also be bought over there from booths on the streets too.

Buying out there is cool once you plan what your doing. Its what we will end up doing this year too.
Last year we didnt pay to get into any parks lol. Mad strokes of luck!

Make sure you take some $$$ for shopping. The outlet mall that is down past Seaworld/Discovery Cove (International Drive) is mahoosive and has loads of stuff there.

If you need an iPod, PSP, DS, camera or bits like that then get down there (and to some of the others). Trainers and kids stuff in GAP are also good value.

The mall in question is immense. I couldnt believe the price's. Ended up spending 2k which would have been 6k in the UK.

Evening m8 I would advise getting your attraction tickets here in the uk before you go works out cheaper (what parks do you plan on doing just Disney or just Universal or all of them). The best shopping out in Florida is as mentioned to be done in the Premium outlets the best 2 in my opinion would be Festival bay top end of I.Drive or the mall where Dolly partons Dixie stampede used to be the bottom end of I.Drive, The mall at Millenia is quite expensive but not many tourists use it and is mainly where the locals go but very nice shops indeed pm me if you want any more info I work in the travel trade and specialise in Florida.

I went to the Prime outlet at the end of I-drive (Kingsland Road) and Florida Mall for the Apple store.

There is a huge Apple store in Mall Millenia too
I found Florida Mall ok, but was in my element in Millenia.

The Timberland and Nike outlets at the end of I-Drive are cool though. And the Walmart on the 192. How much useless stuff can you pick up by the end of the shop lol

Pretty sure this is who we bought off a few years back. Collected the tickets, paid cash and got them even cheaper lol.

Did work out quite well though

Really depends how many days you will spend in each park, if you are buying fast track passes too. If we go to parks this year, we will be getting them.

Can you buy fast track tickets online or do you need to buy these at the gate? How much extra are they and are they worth it?
Cheers

Yup can buy online. 1 day 2 park Express pass is $56. But at certain times of year.. WELL worth it. Queues can be 3-4 hours!

Details of what you get are here.. Universal Orlando - Ticket Details

Details on where to buy here.
Universal Orlando Resort - Theme Park Tickets

All based on Universal. Same available for most parks.

Good price multi park tickets available here. Good exchange rate eh
SeaWorld Orlando Visiting Ticket Offers

And Busch.. Busch Gardens Tampa Bay-Florida Amusement Park

Oh and if you are spending a long day at Universal.... Meal Deal is WELL worth it! Especially for drinks.

Hehe good idea, I can never find the flippin things again either.
When are you going out of interest?

Express passes are so cool. We were issues complimentary ones last year after a bit of a mess up on the gate. Love the feeling of just walking past everyone

2 things to keep in mind....
Remember to take shelter for lunch at about 1.30-2pm daily
First day entry takes a while with fingerprint recognition being used.

The best tickets I bought were the VIP passes in Island of Adventures. Really expensive but worth their weight in gold considering how busy the park was and how many times I went on the rides. You just walk straight to the front of the queue with them. The queue times for the Hulk were up to an 1.5hours and I went on it 3 times in the space of 20minutes. I had been on everything at least once by 12pm.

Yeah they are the same as express passes. Walking past everyone on the Hulk is great aint it
Thats the first ride we headed for too, and same as you, waited seconds. WELL worth getting them, and as I say the meal deals if you are there all day

Oh and a locker on entry of course. No key, just pin number. Real handy.

Hi Snazy,

Going end of August.

Last time we went to Disney you could get a fast pass at the attraction, is the express pass similar ? presumably you would normally have to pay for them.

Snazy,

Top info mate, thanks for the advice.

Only there for short stay so able to go to max of 4 parks and was considering 3 theme parks and 1 water park.

What parks do you recommend (more into adrenaline fuelled action that Mickey Mouse!!) Was thinking Busch Gardens, Island of Adventures, A.N OTHER?.

Any recommendations on water parks, seems like there are a few decent ones about.

Cheers again.

No worries mate, I would say get Seaworld in for a nice day, and a few fun rides As well as the other 2 you have. As for Universal, both parts of the park are on the same location, so you have Studios and Island of Adventure. Studio's having the hardcore rides, IOA for more relaxation.

Blue Man Group are playing there too, well worth seeing if you can budget for it.

Busch is a superb day, but remember what I said about lunch time. Get in the places to eat first as you might be there a while.

If you do Seaworld, the Shamu show by night "Shamu Rocks" is brilliant. Day ones are a bit lame.
Also ALWAYS stay for park closing time. The shows are great. Universal, be by the lake and the 360 globes, you will see why

Oh and water parks, the best recommendation has to be Wet'n'Wild. You can get open passes for there. Great way to pass a hot afternoon/ evening when you are bored

Allan, good time of year, but definatly get the passes, on the door is fine
Weather is a bit touch and go, so plan a couple of days available to go to the parks, and the weather monitoring is amazing and they shut the rides down at the first hint of a lighting cloud. Can be disappointing.

Other than that, have a great time guys

And if any couple are considering Florida this year, we have spare rooms in the house again between June 28th and July 12th... 4th July baby YEAH
