Anyway.. this seems like a good ruse to crank up the price of petrol a bit more.. £1.50 litre by June anyone!?

For years I've referred to it as....

B lair's
B ull$h!t
C hannel

Convenient that Brown's surname carries on the trend

They are going on strike for 2 days yet it will disrupt supplies for a month...How does that work?
So if they go on strike for 2 weeks they could bring the country to a halt for half of the year.

Why don't you actually bother reading the link before commenting on it?

The plant cannot be, and I quote "turned on and off like a switch", therefore it takes time to shut it all down, strike for 2 days, then fire it all back up again.

Hang on wouldn't a shortage of fuel be good news? Bring the country to a grinding half, more petrol price strikes etc.

More trouble for Gordon Brown!

It's an oil refinery mate. You can't just turn it off and on like a light switch!

They've actually just started the shutdown process tonight in anticipation of the strike next week.

But if you look at some of the headlines again they say 'risks' petrol supplies.
So in that respect shortages aren't 'definate'.

Considering devolution, hopefully the English won't offer the Scots any of our fuel

The one's who know will just fill up. They'll not spend time on the internet telling people and risk missing the boat..

That's assuming that the world is actually coming to an end.

The bit that confuses me is, you get told of fuel shortages, so people dash out to fill up. WHY? if you run out you can't go to work!!!. Winner. You get paid to stay at home. Maybe the country is full of worker bees who just love to work and can't bare to be away from it.

I however love being away from work, and if a fuel crisis causes it, and my work can't provide me with suitable accomodation to be close to it , then that is a double whammy to this pish poor excuse for a Government,

I love the way some of you seem to think it's a great idea to disrupt the entire country as it will 'hurt' Gordon Brown.

Newsflash!!! Brown like all poiticians doesn't give a crap about you or the country and will feel no 'pain' perosnal or otherwise because of this.

You all remind me of the unions in the 70s striking over and over thinking they were winning and instead just undermining all their jobs and the industry they were in.

Sure let's bring the country to a grinding halt to upset Gordon, meanwhile many of the businesses that can no longer fucntion will see their trade go elsewhere. Brilliant idea!!!

lol oooh nooooo not a petrol shortage.....

Hmmm whats the #1 cause of those...
Oh thats right, panic buying and people stockpiling it.

Production stays the same, sales doubles due to panic buying, distribution cant keep up, and pumps run dry.
In the end there is no strike, but due to the "concerns" caused by journalist etc, the "shortage" still happens.

Needless to say im going to queue now lol...... with all 3 cars.
