Price comparison sites.
Depends what sort of holiday to be honest, and how much cover you want.

If you have any sort of bank account other than a standard current account, see if you have anything like holiday insurance. Im covered by my AG Natwest account

I got quoted £40 for a weekend in Kiev!

Think the tour of Chernobyl may have increased the premium a bit

As above - Insure and Go are normally the best - I have annual Gold cover with them for me and my other half which costs about £70 a year and covers just about anything in any part of the globe. They do very good deals for one off cover too.

Hello

I use Cheap Travel Insurance Quote | Cheap Holiday Insurance Quote | insurefor.com for annual insurance. My daughter was extremely ill in Poland last week and had to go to hospital. I contacted them and they rebooked the flights and she came home today. So they appear to be quite good.
