I'm sick of having to turn up the sound on the HD channels, so I ve decided I'll get a sound system for the TV.

TV is Samsung LE40M87BD (has 3 HDMI sockets, one component, one optical out and a number of others which aren't relevant), a PS3 and Sky HD box.

I don't need a DVD player, but I appreciate that loads of systems come with one. I also need wireless. We have nowhere to run the wires, and I don't want them exposed. Budget is £500 max.

I don't mind buying components as opposed to a complete system, but the budget remains the same.

Please don't respond with "if you can stretch to" as that is my absolute maximum.

Hopefully, the weatlh of knowledge that is SN will see me right

Other halfs parents just got the Sony DAV-DZ860W system. Pretty good, just cuts the sound to the rears if you walk in front of the sensor. Sounds great.
