Looking to go with the girlfriend around August time. Due to her work commitments it would only be a quick break for 7 days.
Would just like to know peoples general experiences of any of them, what travel agent you went with, where you stayed etc etc and any other general need to know info. Thanks.

That's hurricane season isn't it? The Antiguan season will be done at that time, and not that interesting, there's not much there other than the party scene. St Lucia would be my choice. Awesome landscape and rain forrest.

I've been to St Lucia twice and we really like it.
Did Grenada last year and that was fantastic.
Stayed at the Spice Island Beach Resort - a fantastic 5 star + hotel.
Can highly recommend Trailfinders, they always find us a good deal, and guarantee no increase through fuel charges.

This year we are going to Carslisle Bay for 1 week in Antigua followed by 1 week at the Cotton House on Mustique Island.
I recommend Virgin flights over BA.
Have done all classes with both and Virgin is miles better in every respect.
Virgin Premium Economy is good value, and it's only an 8/9hr flight, so Upper Class is only if you have some spare dollars - which luckily this year I do, which is why we are going Upper both ways :-)
I love the Carribean, only place I prefer over it is Maldives.
On saying that I can also highly recommend Mauritius.

I went to Antigua in March the volcano had just erupted so the hotel was having to clean the ash off the patios ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
that was a few years ago though, but I went with work to do a job for William Hill, but I stayed at the Royal Antiguan Hotel, all inclusive via Virgin, definately worth it
I had to work 3 days out of the 7 that I was there, and I got paid double time for one of the days as it was a saturday

St Lucia is fab
My girlfriend's parents have their yacht moored in Rodney Bay Marina (it's a tough life I know
) - I went there for the first time about 6 weeks ago and it was amazing.
The friendliest people and some of the nicest places to stay that I've come across. I would also agree about the Virgin flights - much nicer than BA. Also, if you're into diving - there are some amazing places to go and of course, the sailing is second to none.
The only time I smelt sulphur was when I went to the volcanic springs (funny that) - certainly never was aware of it anywhere else on the Island.
Avoid the Sandals resorts and find some good local hotels. The Royal is great, but expensive. Ladera is simply amazing, as is Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain. If you want something a little more reasonable, the Bay Gardens Resort is lovely and right on the beech (and it is where you will find me at Christmas
I fly out on Christmas day and I can't wait!!).
According to my g/f who has been going there for the last 10 years, it has changed a fair bit, but it is no where near as commercial as some places (visit the BVIs, if you want a less commercial place). Also the exchange rate is good (over 5 ECD to the pound), which means the beer is about a quid a bottle (and very good - Piton Beer is highly recommended!)

Another vote for the Royal in St Lucia... although get the $90 helicopter airport transfer, as 1hour in a taxi over the lush rainforest clad hills seems a long, long time....
....especially since they have a rum punch waiting on ice for you when you get there!!

Spent 3 months in St Lucia (many years ago) went back 3 years ago, still gorgeous. Dont like Rodney bay but stayed in Anse Chastanet in the south, awesome. Antigua was ok , more "British" but Hawksbill bay was very 70s, pleasant but tired......
Grenada: great, a bit like Antigua but better, probably rebuilt now so more modern?
