Gee. I wonder which way this one is going to go.

You may as well poll Daily Mail readers whether they think there are too many immigrants in the country.

Funny you should mention the immigrants...No, cannot be bothered...OK i lied!

Just because you do not see a problem does not mean there isn't one.

Try a poll of the whole of the UK and i bet everybody will put immigration in their top 3 concerns - rightly or wrongly and this is all down to immigration over the last 10 or so years being mishandled and old so called 'integration' problems being left to fester.

Well the last 2 elections the Tories fought were based on immigration, and they got completely hammered.

As for public services, the last major Poll was in May 2007 - And 40% of people though they were worse - With a slight majority saying they were better.

We'll see how scoobynet measures up to the general public

Here we go again

No doubt you'll have some government survey/statistic to say everything is way better than it was when the Torries were in power.

Or maybe you'll tell us (again) that if this question was posted on another forum (Labour appreciation forum) that the results would be different?

Another labour Government poll was it?

Probably the same type of Poll that say the the majority of the British public are in favour of:-

More speed camera's
ID cards
Higher Green taxes
Olympic games
Conjestion charges
More immigrants (they're good for britain)

Doesn't have to be a pro Labour forum - Just one that isn't so hugely skewed to the right. Scooby net, we know is - 79% tory, 1% labour and 20% BNP tells you all you need to know about political opinion here and it's not representative of the country at large, as shown by the local election results.

For the place to be represenatative of the country at large, it would have to be 44% tory, 26% Lib dem 24% labour with the rest spread amongst greens, BNP and independants.

Polls here are virtually useless, because all it is, is a load of people with the same political views, agreeing with each other.

By your own admission, this poll was obviously Bollox. So why quote it?

1% does not equal 1 person - Unless of course exactly 100 people responded to the poll - I actually chose "not sure" for the "who would you vote for in a GE" poll.

How do you know that the Poll you quote was representitive of the whole country?

Could have been Polled at a Labour conference for all you know.

I said Polls here are virtually useless..

If it was polled at the Labour party conference then 40% would not have said Public services are worse than they were (which is apretty large amount).

The Tories may well have got panned at the last two elections, not just about immirgation but partly i grant you.

I think you will find poor immigration policy and bad decisions on integration, etc have brought the subject very much to the forefront. I think you will find it had affected a lot more people, more poeple are aware of the issues and i think you know that it is a hot topic so stop the devils advocate bit

**** me even NL have started to wake up to it after 10 years.

just to correct you on this fact as you have obviously obtained it from the poll on here a few days ago.

the people who looked at the thread voted in this way, whats to say 40-50-10000 members who havent seent the thread/chose to ignore it for whatever reason arent labour followers. youve simply based your percentage assumptions on a small section of scoobynet members and thus cant possibly imply it is the "overall" scoobynet point of view.

(if what ive said above isnt quite in correct punctuation grammar etc, its because i attended "big school" in the labout era and could only afford a-level education) -sorry i bit then

Correct.

So in other words, pools are useless because they only take a very small snapshot of a certain section of society. Which is exactly the point I was making.

NO way worse, we are paying more & more money is set aside each year for public services, yet we consistently get a worse service. Throwing more money at a solution does not make it better, resolving the core basic problem is what is needed.

Yup we could do with less management for sure and spend the money better.

But I guess there is the danger that if you don;t have the management team, then senior medical staff get sidetracked from providing frontline services into management decisions

Your argument was that Polls on Scoobynet are useless.

Government Polls are correct as they use the general public, and not the general public who happen to also use Scoobynet.

Which is why I asked why you were quoting Government Polls when you admit all Polls are useless.
