Exclamation Ebay feedback changes....

Just logged onto ebay and noticed my rating is up from 426 to 433 and my feedback % down fom 98.4% to 91.7% without me receiving any feedback other than a couple of positives!

Seems they use the last 12 months now, meaning my 11+ and 1 neutral = 91.7%.

What a rubbish idea!
granted my feedback has also gone back to 100%, but I only use ebay maybe 3 or 4 times a year, so 1 negative from some **** who cant read properly (same as my only other negative years back) could bump my score down to 60% or so.

Yes, my thoughts too.

My neutral was from a new ebayer who was happy with his purchase, yet I lose nigh on 7% of my rating.

Ebahy have been fiddling with their systems quite a bit of late - not all for the good or user-friendly. The new car search system is crap and slow.

Mine has gone up by +4 too, still at 100%.
Think it's good that if you make more than 1 purchase from the same supplier you grt another feedback point, used to be if you bought 10 items from the same seller, their feedback would only count once

The Positive Feedback percentage is calculated based on the number of positive, negative and neutral ratings (including Repeat Feedback) received in the last 12 months as folows:

Positives /

Positives + Neutrals + Negatives

Member's 12 Month Feedback ratings
Positives:15Neutrals:0Negatives: 0

Member's Positive Feedback percentage

15 = 100.0%
15 + 0 + 0

So as David suggests you could have 4/(4+0+1) = 80%

like the idea of having more points per transaction but as I only on 80, it dosent really bother me. saying that 1 negative in 12 months has rubbished my score now and anyway the buyer and I sorted it all out in the end.

So someone who has been screwing people over for years and received loads of negative feedback but for some reason only had 1 transaction in the last 12 months(that goes well) will have a feedback rating of 100%?

Way to go ebay!

why remove the facility of a buyer to leave -ve feedback?

I really don't see the logic.

.. dont think there was anything wrong with the feedback system as it was
.. dont think these new ideas are a good thing at all, seems to me the only
good idea was the "star" rating system buyers left for sellers ..
I must agree for an occasional sellar 1 neutral in a year could look awful

It appears to be all in favour of the vendor. That said; eBay havent ever been accused of looking after their buyers, have they?

Ive just had a non payer, Ive done the NPB alert got my fees back but I cant leave them a negative! Not a good idea when trying to judge someone who's bidding on one of your auctions.

My feedback went up from 1,993 to 2,532.........which was nice!

I'm generally happy with it. I'm back to 100% after an idiot 2 years ago. But what's not so good is:

"Buyers, you can no longer receive negative or neutral Feedback from sellers.

You should leave honest and accurate Feedback without the fear of receiving negative or neutral ratings "

They should have 3 feedback ratings, one as a buyer, one as a seller and the other combined.

Simple
