Being prepared for maiden launch. Crane transfer from quayside to water.

Other costs :
Crane + rigging + labour engaged for 2 hours............................=$2,500.00
Champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries with cream ...................=$300.00
Music dockside for 'soon-to-be-owners' and a small group of friends....
= $500.00
Photographer to capture the happy moment............................................ ......... = $350.00
And then ...whoops !!
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/cdodsworth/yacht2.jpg)
Watching from quayside as a ( $55.00 ) faulty turnbuckle on the
hoisting rig collapses & .............. your dream boat nosedives into the harbor with two corporate representatives [ one in the bridge and the other seen 'hanging' in the stern ] performing the handover routine just prior to inking the final paperwork...

Had an incident like that at a local boat club last year over here. Launch crew had not correctly positioned one of the lifting slings and when lifted the boat slid from one of the slings and face planted the water ![Frown](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
The launch crew of the boat in the pictures should have got it in the neck for allowing anyone to be on board during the lift, as, well the pictures tell the tale, if anything goes wrong there is a chance for serious personal injury. We are never allowed on the boat when the lift actually starts.
