Default Florida homes?

Parents are half considering a home in Florida with the prices having sunk so low, but never having been out and hearing a couple stories about security personnel into condo's, they are somewhat unsure about it now.

Is the security needed, or just an added precaution.....do the family homes have security too?

If anyone has bought a holiday home from the UK? If so, can you provide any details of area's to look at (was looking for around Sanford or Orlando to help with flights) and what brokers you spoke to/bought through?

Cheers

My old fella bought a house in Dr Phillips near Sand Lake years ago for 75k

it is a lovely area and is even better nowadays.

Unfortunately house prices have taken a tumble and could go down even more.

No expert but i'd tell them to hang fire for a bit to see how things pan out.

Now if you really want a cheap house try Texas

Lol, thanks fella.

Dad is a guy who takes his time with things anyway, so no issue with him handing over money without him being 100% sure.

Where is Sand Lake? Do they have security things there?

My sister moved there and she has now got 4 houses in Kissimme which is just 4 miles fro the entrance to Disney. Due to visa problems she is probably moving so is looking to sell some of her houses - all have own pools.

Check her web site Abracadabra vacation homes & villa rentals in Orlando Florida

If your Dad is worried about security, get a home in a gated community. Normally only 1/2 ways in, through gates with security guards.

Cheers Jods, expect a PM soon.

Thanks Daddyscoob, will have a shifty at the site.

They are more concerned WHY the security is needed and is it a "normal" thing for every state?

I can imagine so.

It's somewhere you really do need to go have a look at first though...same as anywhere i suppose.
