He's not in prison because his conviction was quashed due to him hijacking the 727 under duress as he was escaping the Taleban. Poor little sheep - I personally would've thrown away the keys for threatening to kill innocent passengers he in fact became just as bad as the Taleban he was trying to escape from.
As for the job he has now, you'd think he'd be unemployable with a conviction for hijacking on his record
No doubt he'll be head of Aviation Safety in a couple of years time due to some diversity policy or other
