So when you shave (wherever) do you shave with the grain, or against the grain??
I have sensitive skin, so always shave with the grain, but today I felt like getting my skin really smooth and went against the grain.
All was good until I put the aftershave on.........OUCH
It stung like it had never stung before!!!!
I just thought, how lucky I was I didnt shave down below and put aftershave on there, because I would surely have been dialling 999

Both. Start with the grain and then finish off against. Best way to get as smooth a shave as possible.
Always used to shave when I was in the sauna - now I have a REALLY hot bath and that makes the skin moist enough to allow a really great shave

When i saw the thread title I wondered if it was a euphamism for being gay![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I shave with and against the grain to get my perfect shave.
Tried various electric razors, never been that impressed with them.

There's something fishy going here within the Proctor and Gamble world of Old Spice, and I am going to find out what it is. I knew something crazy was going to happen today from the moment I woke up.

With the grain then finish against the grain here too. I always use a soothing balm afterwards
Even so, I sometimes got some irritation on the neck. But I always used Gillette until my wife got me the new Quattro titanium precision recently. I still shave in the same manner but the shave is even smoother and I get no soreness at all.

I used to shave everyday, but now I work from home, it gets left for days. I prefer to use a trimmer which obviously doesn't give a very close shave but when I go for proper shave, my skin is so tender now I end up looking like somebody has tried to strangle me. Stick on a collar and tie and it damn well hurts.
Shaving is a waste of life in my opinion, just like commuting and sitting (or usually standing) for useless hours in a train/car. Just work out how long you spend shaving each day, multiply by 365, then multiply by, say, 50 or 60 years. It's the best part of one full year
Richard.
