£80 to fill my tank up
holy crap i thought i had a hole in my petrol tank. kept looking under the car to see if the fuel was running out the bottom. Alas no. had to phone the bank to get my over draft extended . It's getting beyond a joke and i thought i did well finding a garage that sold UL for 110.9ppl, but come on, £80 thats just ripping the ar$e out of it. still, can't buy a 4L V8 and then complain about running costs. ho hum let the exchequer have his/her pound of flesh, what else are you going to do ( and don't say buy a diesel, i like my comfort, and diesel is 129.9ppl over here).

I noticed a private garage at 154.9p for diesel this morning on a rural road.
In town, Shell are selling diesel for 120.9, but esso 128.9. Garages are 1/2 mile apart, complete ludicrous.
UL is around 110.9 at moment
Aberdeen.

Cant see it affecting TOO many people though, like the UK, most will plod on and survive.
With it only returning about 12-15 to the gallon too, I will be doing a few fill ups too I reckon.
Here in the UK I just have my trust lil 1.8 now. Lovely on the motorway, pretty good round town, and uses good ol' normal UL.

My Nissan 350Z has an 80 litre fuel tank and the SUL by me is about £1.15 a litre. It was about 96p a litre a few weeks ago.
Is there a specific reason why its so high right now? Are petrol prices cyclic, will they ever drop again? I just can't see them dropping a lot at all.

Yeah when we were out there last year, they were saying with gas passing $4 a gallon, a lot of people were turning to mid size SUV's and smaller.
Think how much fuel could have been saved if they'd had european sized engines

I've started taking it a bit steady on my work commute as the result of the high fuel prices. 65-70 on the motorway instead of 85-90 saves a fair bit.
Food price increases are getting silly too - 4 baked potato's in Morrisons cost 55p for ages, but increased to 79p a couple of weeks back - today they're 99p. A 1kg thing of pasta is up from 99p a few months back to about £2.49 now
My income is a lot more than my outgoings as I don't have a mortgage, but I'm still noticing the extra costs. People with high outgoings must be screwed with such significant increases.

The only 'good' thing i have seen with the petrol increase, is a massive reduced number of chavs ripping it past my house at all hours of the morning, if it can price them off the road, then i welcome the difference.

I bulk buy fertilisers as part of my job, £2500 last year per tonne, now over £5000 for the same product from the same supplier. It's going to get scary for lots of people and industries pretty soon.

Don't forget though - inflation is still only 2.5% according to Nu Labour.
Hence, ruling out any tax cuts or costly wage settlements to help people cope with the burden. I can't understand why they bother to persist with this lie when it's obvious to everyone that it's just bullsh*t.

the texaco near us on the A6 posted 128.8p today for diesel. just outrageous. that's why i switched to LPG in 2006. £42 for a 360 mile tank. in a 4.0 V8. works for me ... god bless the land rover discovery; the devil chastise 'incapability' brown.

my fiance's uncle went up to the Isle of Sky last week.. ok so things are dearer on the islands, but diesel was already 152p..
Have had a petrol courtesy car whilst my diesel (brand new )is in for a repair on a manufacturing fault..... although diesel is dearer, i'd forgotten how easy it is to use up petrol.... I can't wait for my car to come back

Although in real terms, probably in the 7-10% region.

We are a minority of the population who have cars that get crap mpg due to the performance of them, which we enjoy.
MILLIONS of americans have large heavy cars/SUVs with big engines because fuel is cheap. They dont NEED 4 or 5 litre vehicles for travelling around at 55mph everywhere.

Gas is going up, probably followed by electricity any time soon. Food up, council tax up. In fact I can't think of one thing I buy that is cheaper than what it once was.
The Government need to do something about the duty on fuel, as if it keeps going up & up people will stop spending on other things, thus bringing the eccomony closer into recession.

What I can't work out is why the hell do we in the UK pay a premium for diesel.
It's not too long ago that diesel was cheaper per litre than UL - and now its 10p / litre more!
What's more - I don't buy the "more expensive per barrel" argument - have you checked the European prices? Petrol is on a par with the rest of Europe; but we have the second most expensive diesel in the whole of Europe - second only to Norway.
Utter joke.

But with the % increases @ the moment, you can't really fail to notice. I think prices have doubled in the 6 or 7 years i've been driving.
