Recommend me a nice beach holiday in Wales
Preferably not Rhyl or Abersoch but somewhere nice and quiet with a nice beach for the kids to play on! I've seen some nice ones on tely on the Pembroke coast but can't remember the names. Ideally I'd like some experienced recommendations.
Thanks
Steve

My brother lives there and recommends the following beaches: Mwnt, White Sands - St Davids, Newgale, Aberporth, Newport, Tenby, Amroth, Wiseman's bridge. Find yourself somewhere nice to stay as a base and drive around.

Anywhere on the Lleyn Peninsula is good, with easy access to Anglesey's beaches too.
Whistling sands is beautiful, and quiet.
Further down, around St. Davids is very nice and as previously mentioned Tenby and the surrounding area is beautiful with some great beaches. And to make it even better, it's Little England down there, it's like beng in Devon, and I say that being Welsh!

Had a few weeks on the Gower Peninsula when we were kids. Weather must have been good as the holiday has really stuck in my memory. Went swimming loads and also got on of the cheapo polystyrene surf boards to muck around on. Caught lots of waves
Quite popular these days though especially with the surf crowd but there are enough beaches that you should be able to find some quieter spots. Rhossili bay is big enough for everyone anyway:

New Quay right on the west wales coast. I have family there and regularly enjoy going down there and staying in these well nice farm cottages a few miles away. Great way to rrelax and enjoy the country side

New Quay is brilliant and cheap.
The Gower is fantastic too!
Snowdonia is amazing.
Wales is a cracking place - just stay away from the Council Estates ..... row upon row of grey pebble dashed houses and MOT failures - real poverty is there

**** me i loved walking across that Bridge of a night time from Barmouth when i were a young lad..(still am young btw)we would walk it across the Birdge at like 11 pm,**** me it was totally dark.and then from the car park,we would follow the railway track into Fairbourne..WE used to look back across the Bridge over into Barmouth, and see the town lights in the distance.and in the Summer you used to get that warm sea air blowing inland..Great day's...

Yea we used to go allover the place..we used to call it the blue Mountains for some reason..where the Barmouth bridge was that little gravel carpark, well next to that used to be a track like a dissused railway or something. And you could walk it all the way along that track to the George pub.that pub next to the toll bridge..plus we used to walk it along the top of them mountains, overlooking Barmouth..my Dad used to go sea fishing at Barmouth..Havent been there for some Year's,but always remember it..

if you are anywhere near it try to visit the place the prisoner was made - Portmeirion. If you're old like me and remember the series it's just like it lots of weird and strange buildings. Nice walks and a nice beach.

Aberdaron
Both on the Nefyn Pennisula.
Used to go as a kid, quite remote and quiet but only 30mins from Caemarfon and Snowdonia....and Anglesey.
