Car Clampers put into hospital ...
Just heard that - in Luton - a pair of Car Clampers have been attacked and put into hospital.
A driver/owner was clamped, the clampers were there and demanded £150 to take the clamp off ...... the man went away to 'get the money' returning with a group of men who took their heads off.
Hard to not feel a little smile on my lips ......... I do think the application of miniature clamps on the wheels of their hospital beds was a little cruel

I'll go to hell for saying this but, serves them right!
They make a living out of intimidating people and nigh on demanding money with menaces, so they can't really be surprised when it goes wrong for them occasionally.

If the guy was parked illegaly then he'll deserve all that the law can throw him.
If they guy was parked legally and they clamped him anyway (or an illegal tiny sign was put up on a tree facing away from the parking spaces) when the clampers deserved all they got.

Violence can't be condoned, but I have no sympathy for these people with their extortionate recovery rates and dubious practices. I'd say it's not beyond clampers to be menacing towards their 'customers' too.
It is said that the car was parked on the drive on F1. I've recently had an exhaust from this place and have also parked on their drive, in fact it's essential for the movement of vehicles in and out of the shop. Although, I don't quite know if and why the place would be open at 9.45 pm

I just think that without the facts this attack cannot be cheered or jeered. for example, if the car was parked on private land, where there were clamping signs up, then the "thug" deserved to be clamped, towed away, fined, mocked and laughed at.
If it was a case of dodgy clamping by a dodgy company then the clampits should expect a good hiding from time to time...
From extracting what I can from the news article I would say it's the former...

You simply can't.
I don't agree with people getting hiding. But it is difficult to sympathise with out and out profiteering

i agree if u park illigally u should be punished but i think clamping is demanding money by menace. i had an argument over a parking ticket sid it was nt mine and dint know about it, they said tough basically then clamped my car. i need the car so had to pay it but i still to this day say i wasnt illegally parked and never got a ticket.

I have 5 spaces at work and people are always parking in them and then buggering off to the shops. It's really frustrating when I pay £1000 a month for my unit and then can't get a space when I need one.
(I do have clamping signs up in several places)
So I use a local company and they make a bloody fortune out of clamping people in my spaces, worth every penny to me.
