Cool New mobile time (yawn...)

It's that time again...

I don't use my phone much, so I'm looking to minimise my total cost of ownership over the year - almost any package is likely to include as many minutes as I actually use.

Over the last 12 months I've been paying about £12 a month on average and got a K800i included too. The year before I was on one of these 12 month 'free' line rental contracts, got a free RAZR V3 which went straight on Ebay, and since I did actually get all my line rental refunded I think I actually made a profit

So, what to do this year?

I like my K800i and I have the full BMW car kit for it, so I'll probably carry on using it anyway. So the plan is, either look for a ridiculously cheap SIM-only deal, or try and get the most valuable phone I can and sell it straight away to help pay for line rental. The best I've found so far is a phone (LG KF770) worth about £160 on a package @ £20/mo, giving a total bill for the year of around (12*20 - 160) = £80.

It's got to be on O2 because that's the only network that has coverage at my office, and I prefer a contract to PAYG.

Tips please?
Andy

I imagine that people will clamour for the new iphone, due out next month on O2. Also fully compatible with the BMW bluetooth kit so you could keep it if you liked it.

I've gone PAYG for a couple of months as my contract has expired.

Waiting for the new N96

Lol I say I want to minimise cost over the year and get recommended an iPhone... do you work in mobile phone retail??

I called O2 - stayed on the same £8.50/mo contract (100 inclusive minutes) and got a £50 credit for keeping the same phone. Total cost over the year £52 plus any extra calls, which isn't too bad IMHO.

I thought you were considering selling the phone on?

Well, yes, but I can't see how I could possibly end up better off. The cheapest iPhone deal is £99 + 18 x £30 = £639 over 18 months!

Get the Sony Ericsson K850i if you liked your K800! Works great with BMW kit.

Just got the Sony Ericsson C902 cybershot, brilliant phone. I had the k800i previously and the new phone works much the same as it.
