Default Disposable suit?

I'm going to a wedding in the UK next weekend and am planning to travel by motorcycle. Haven't got space for a suit so I'm planning to buy one when I get there and just bin it after the big day.

Can anyone recommend anything from £150 downwards? Cheaper the better but has at least to look half way decent.
Taking my own shirt and shoes so the whole budget can go on the suit.

Other option is hire one but I don't like the idea of wearing clothing that's been worn by Moss Bros customers

just go to tesco/asda, and get a suit from them, you are prob looking at £30-£40.

it wont be the best, but it will do the job.

i have a asda one, and for the couple of times i have used it, it has been fine.

other than that, after you have used the one you have brought, why dont you just post it back to your self?

I'd like it to look halfway decent, are the tesco/asda suits remotely stylish or am I being optimistic on a max budget of 150 quid?

There's no point posting it back to myself as I'll never wear it, I have some really rather nice made to measure suits in the wardrobe.

NACRO, pop it in one of those Charity clothes dustbins when you have done with it, after a really good wedding you shouldnt be able to wear it again for rips and Bridesmaid residue

Why not post one of your suits to the hotel you are staying at?

Do you have one of those McArthur Glenn outlets near you? I got a nice suit that didn't look cheap for about £90 from a fancy boy shop. Can't remember the name, but they sell lots of designer gear in it.

Wish I had £150 that I could consider disposable money though.

What's the point? It will cost me in excess of £50 for insured courier delivery to my friend's house and slightly less on the way back as I won't have the time pressure.

Looked at the outlet and it's a no-go as they are nowhere near places I'm passing through or going to.

There is a place called Suits You, don't know how nice the suits are for sure, but they are reasonable, might be worth looking into, if there is one anywhere near where you will be.

im suprised dear boy, thought you may have taken the bentley instead.

on a serious note, if you do pick up a one-time suit, rather than throw it away find a local charity shop and donate it? least someone less fortunate than yourself may get some good use from it, bearing the condition post wedding/bridesmaids.

Suits you added to list of possibles, thank you for that.

TKMAXX sell suits?

It has to formal so the greenpeace is out- otherwise I'd be wearing one of these in honour of my host country

Doubt I'll have time to trawl the highstreet looking for charity shops.

topman or burtons? never had one of their suits, but worth a pop?
what abour greenwoods, bit grandad-ish, but depends what you want...

re. charity shops, quite search onm intro-web to find local ones in the area of visit.

just seems a waste regardless of personal wealth that someone may benifit. all imho.

I was hoping for some recommendations from people who'd actually bought the gear as I haven't got time to look around.
I'd tend to avoid TopMan or Burton unless someone knew of some nice gear there.
I'm still intrigued to know if a Tesco/Asda value suit is remotely stylish. Sound ideal if they were, price of a few drinks and straight in the bin. Job done.

M & S suits are supposed to be as good as any off-the-peg.

I hadn't realised until doing a little search, but the other half got his suit from Suits You. We aren't well off, and needed to get one fairly quickly for a funeral. It was around about £100, and it's nice enough, obviously nothing flash, and there will be a fair bit of choice, but if it's just a throw away item, I'm sure there'll be something half decent without going over budget.

As others have said, it might be a nice thing to give it to a charity shop afterwards, or get someone to do that for you.

I'm going to take a look at 'suitsyou'. The logistics of donating it means it probably won't happen unless I pay for a taxi to drive it to the nearest charity shop. Thinking about it I suppose I could ask the Vicar if he collects things like that.

LOL NACRO the label says Matalan, they are just made by Hugo Boss but much cheaper with a Matalan tag than a Hugo Boss one

Oh, If your real name is George then I wouldn't buy a suit from ASDA otherwise your wedding friends might just think your mum had to sew your name into your clothes

matalan can be full of ******* so maybe not your thing, the asda stuff although not owned one look okay quality certainly for a once only wear but probably dont look that stylish.

M & S quality stuff, got one of their suits but you may be closer to your budget, only prob with M & S is that usually there are loads of different types so you may have to sift through a lot to find one that "suits" you

Same with Next but should be cheaper than M & S and will probably slightly more fashionable than the M & S range.

In years gone by I have had one from burtons, but its not a suit I would wear for a wedding (even though I did!)
