Default Any tips on removing "grime" from the collar of a white shirt.

Hi,
I've a few cotton white shirts i wear for work, but they have become stained on the collar. Has anyone any tips for getting them back to white again.

thanks

If just washing white shirts put a little bleach in with them

orr soak them in some bleach and water for 5 mins prior to washing them.

Try washing your neck before you put your shirt on

Or is it lip-stick stains you want to remove?

Damp the collar and rub it with a bar of vanish before washing. Simple

Try Stain Devils, stain remover (think that's what it's called), I've managed to get dirty engine oil off white t-shirts with it before, so might be worth a go.

i was just thinking the same. a friend of mine is a plasterer. every morning he turns up to work to brief his guys in a pair of shorts, white shirt (with fold marks still) and a brick tie as a "tie". he has a sense of humour you see

at the end of the day he bins the shirt and puts a clean t shirt on to drive home. he spends approx £30 a week on shirts from tesco or asda and doesn't have the hastle of having to replace his washing machine as often as he once did!
