legality of claiming your something that you are not.
hi all
just wondered if there is anything that states that you cannot legally say in an official document that you are something that you are not, ie: m dobson, solicitor etc

impersonating a solicitor on a legal document though, if you havent ever sat an exam or etc to be one.

Somethings are covered under the "Statutory Declarations Act, 1935" which is basically on any document that you disclose information you are testifying to the fact that the information is true.
I found this out when signing some documents for a church (long story), but as far as I could tell no one has been prosecuted by, erm, forgetting to mention certain things.
Of course if you are doing something where you are legally required to have some form of document (e.g Doctor, Lawyer) then it is fraud amongst other things.

S16 Theft Act 1968 offences were repealed by the Fraud Act (unless they preceed it.)
