In the shadow of the moon.
Great film.
Wish I was around to experience those times, what a great time in human history.
There's one clip where Charlie Duke says at launch his heart rate was 144.
The commander, John Young's ( who was the first Space Shuttle pilot IIRC ) heart rate was 70. Nerves of steel!
If you haven't seen it, and are interested in the space programme, you'll love this.

It was on Channel 4 a few weeks ago. I have to admit it was very well done and left you with a sense of awe that these feats were achieved 40 years ago..
I have kept this on the archive of my PVR as it's something I'll definitely be watching again.

Had a little tear in my eye when they described what happened at the pre-flight tests for Apollo 1 , these were men who defined the word bravery

We all stayed up all night to watch the moon landing. Never to be forgotten!
Those astronauts who were killed in the fire on the ground test of the capsule should never have been in it. It was siad that there had been a glycol spill in the capsule and that it might destroy the insulation of the wiring. Nevertheless Nasa did not want to spend the money stripping it out and were said to be prepared to take the risk of a short circuit. When it actually happened they did not stand a chance because of the 100% oxygen atmosphere in the capsule!
I was told that by Nasa employees.
