despite it's still unfixed bugs and the fact my TomTom broke I can't stop myself from really wanting one. What colour you going for Swiss? I can't decide - pretty sure it's going to come down to what colour matches the scoob best - sad but true.

Well yes is was stupid.
What I meant was you can choose what colour you want but if you want the the free iPhone you have to have black but the white or black 16GB is more expensive and most people are generally tight and will end up with the black one.

Yes everyone will go for the black 8GB model and the free one with the middle contract..by far the most popular.
Me, I am going for the 16GB in black (of course) and pay the small premium upgrade cost

I got the text too, and I won't be upgrading unless O2 use the words upgrade, yours, for and free in the same sentance.
My iphone is less than 3 months old and cost me the origninal price (8gb). I don't need 3g, and as for gps, well I have sat nav and have a wrist mount GPS for when I'm walking.

If it's anything like the AT&T setup, then you may be able to sign up for the 3G before the 11th. From what I've read you go in, setup the contract and it's "paused" until you pick up the 3G on the 11th. You get some confirmation number so that when you pick it up you don't need to hang around waiting to setup the contract, however, I'm guessing you still need to wait whilst they unbrick the 3G, unless they are going to be pre-opening the boxes and doing that, and then just handing you the box containing an unbricked 3G.
I can see a few people being a tad unhappy about that, as it would not have been open by themselves or at least in their presence.
The only txt message I got from Robbers, sorry, Rogers, about the iPhone 3G was "Want an iPhone 3G? Come and get it on the 11th, we're going to bugger you on the price plans though, but you're used to us fecking you in the ****, and we're greedy, lots of love Ted Rogers"

There was a leak of a Rogers doc detailing the unbricking process, which states the phones need to be tethered to unbrick, typically using a USB cable. Even if it was possible via WiFi, you'd still need to remove the phone from the box to unbrick it, regardless of the method.
I have seen mention of the AT&T vids, so I'll go have a watch and see what it says.
Interesting that O2 shops are open at 7am on the 11th. I'd like to know when they will be able to sell the iPhones though, I thought that the launch was actually going to be around noon PST. I cannot see Apple letting other countries getting the iPhone before those in the US, that simply would not do
