So the news is full of it, what is keeping a smile on your face at the moment (if it is your missus, pic required)

Me? I'm off to North Devon next week.Apart from that, the kids keep me smiling and also chucking the roof off the car at any dry moment.

Stuff the economy,generally,life is good

40th birthday in a couple of weeks....so i should be feeling bad!

Luckily i have 2 surprise holidays coming up that i know nothing about as a present from the Mrs. The only way i know about them at all is because i have had to book time off work.

so on the 20th July i'm off somewhere for a week just with the Mrs (hoping that it will be somewhere i can tick of my list of things to do i.e Catch a Marlin (Madeira good for this) and dive in a cage with great whites).

Then back for a day and fly out again bur this time with my little girl as well. I suspect this will be a bit more normal package / all inclusive hotel somewhere in Europe.

3 weeks in Florida in 20 odd days.

Last night my 2 girls were playing Dr Who in the garden. Amy ( 5 ) was chasing her big sister round the swings shouting " EXTERMIMATE, EXTERMIMATE "

Tomorrow is my eldests 9th birthday. I asked her what she hopes to get last night and she told me " A pink small digital camera "
That's good because I've bought her a Pink Sony Cybershot.

I have a new hybrid cycle arriving Friday. That should make me smile after the knackered 15 year old MTB I rode yesterday.

To help I've planned a short trip through Notts. For anyone interested (probably no-one ) it's Mapperley - Carlton - Gedling - Burton Joyce - Lowdham - Gonalston - Thurgaton - Halloughton - Southwell - Oxton - Epperstone - Woodborough - Mapperley Plains. That should get the heart pumping

Life's good for me, okay a bit worse off due to the current situation but still got plenty of disposable income. It would take something pretty serious to mean that I couldn't make the mortgage repayments any more. Don't envy those that took out massive mortgages though thinking the prices will continue to rise, glad I kept it within my means

House is coming along, got our bedroom decorated to how we want it, furniture arriving soon, then I'll have a little spend on a new TV / DVD / micro Hi-Fi for it Garden is looking good, just had 120ft of fencing put up so a bit of privacy now, just in time for plenty of BBQs on my new gas jobbie Getting a new shed soon too Start planning our extension soon... What credit crunch

Breakfast on the Beach does it for me ... MX5 comes out of the garage at 4am ... a lazy drive down to the beach on the South coast, through the New Forest ... bar-b-que lit on the beach ... bacon butties and sausages in rolls ... if the mackeral are running I'll get the rod out and catch a couple, gut them on the beach and straight on the barbie.

Sit and watch the morning go by ...... excellent!

For the price of 4 gallons of petrol - the best things in life cost very little ...

The prospect of thousands of idiots being repossessed and thrown out onto the street, the pound collapsing against the euro and loads of low life UK idiots not being able to afford to pollute the mainland.

Add to that the credit crunch, high oil prices and the general crap being suffered by people I dislike intensly and it all combines to give me, someone totally unaffected by any of these matters, an intense sense of happiness/smugness.

You'd possibly be considerably happier without carrying around all that repressed anger

Smile

Just come back from a business trip to Toulouse, its now 34 degrees in Lyon, just been for another 1 hour lunch with some rather nice females from our office. About to sign for an appartment in town early next week, which will get us out of the hotel.

Off to Chamonix the weekend for a bit of climbing.

Just take care on that there Oxton/Epperstone bypass

I'm off to Cyprus in 2 weeks time and can't wait.
I've got enough work booked in to take me to Christmas and a bit beyond, so at the moment life's good

Never know how long it may last, though.

Well, I hated my last job and I knew they wer making cuts so I asked for redundancy.

Despite my manager trying to persuade me to stay, I said I want to go and he is a good guy, and sorted it out for me.

So I got a nice payoff (4 weeks salary for every year I've been there - 5 - tax free!), seven week paid holiday. Got a new job paying me 50% more than the old one!

On the downside, having a couple of issues with the g/f but will hopefully sort that this weekend...

Personally I would prefer to dive in that cage with the great whites on the outside!

Have a great 40th anyway.
