For the Stargate fans amongst us, I've just seen this film, and I reckon it is a fitting end to the series. In my opinion, one of the best ever episodes. Even if you're not a big fan of the Stargate series, it's still a very good film in its own right.
I'd heartily recommend it.

No, it's a completely separate stand-alone story.
I think it gets released on July 29th. (Or right now from a torrent site)
Arc of truth was intended to finish off the Ori story line. Continuum was intended to finish off the Go'a-old (spelling?) story line as Ba'al was the last of the system lords.

I must admit that I stoped watching the spin off as it seemed to loose the plot alot quicker then the original SG 1 series.

I thought you might have been mistaken, but alas not, Don died on 29th June of cardiac arrest. Sad news for fans of SG as General Hammond was a big part of the show up until the final season when he was "promoted" and Hank Landry (Beau Bridges) took over. I have to say I did like the actor, was great on SG-1, but was also rather good in The X-Files, plus Twin Peaks.

I've still not got round to watching Ark of the Truth, which I've read is a fairly good tie up of the Ori storyline and a more fitting end to the show than the final episode.

Continuum I've read a small bit about, and will eventually see. It does seem it's meant to be a one off, but may launch more tv movies of SG-1, depending on it's reception and of course the cast's willingness to continue working on SG.
