Default Wireless house alarm, any good?

Are the wireless house alarms any good. Are they easy to install and is there any issues with reliability?

Thanks

We had a Yale one installed by the previous owners of our house.

I bought additional bits for it from ebay to reinforce the system and while I'm sure people could get around it if they knew what they were doing, it works as a deterrent and I would hope would tempt a thief to find a house with out one.

Who knows....

We've just had a RESPONCE alarm fitted (wireless) think the leccy got it from screwFix, so far.. no problems and we have no wires running up and down and across walls or chopping out

as my Leccy said, these things have come onb leaps and bounds over the years so don't worry about it being wireless, his brothers had one a few years with no battery problems either.

I had a Response alarm fitted at a previous house, and in the main it did a good job, although I did have a problem when a neighbour told me once it went off two or three times during the day. The theory was that it was suffering interference from some of the systems at the Boots factory about 200 yards away.

That was about 10 years ago, so their design may well have improved since then. If not, the as long as you're nowhere near a factory, it might be alright
