Default Noise reduction headphones..

Never even considered buying any til shopping for normal headphones recently.
Wanting some normal over ear style ones for me and the missus, we stumbled across some Phillips NR ones. $49. Only cheap and cheerful but they work really well

Now im tempted by the more expensive BOSE ones I tried out in the airport lol.

Gonna resist though, only ever use headphones when running or flying (in planes that is ) and just replaced my running ones too anyway.

Do they do NR ones like that too now ?
I specifically wanted over ear ones on this occasion though, as in ear ones irritate my ears on long flights.

Aaaah I got some similar looking ones, Gummies... but not NR ones.
Was shocked at the NR or noise cancellation qualities of the headphones even in the terminal.

Snazy. Don't take this the wrong way, but...

You've started a thread to say you've bought some NR 'phones ...

... and that you were thinking of upgrading to Bose ...

.. but you're not going to because you've recently replaced your headphones.

Is there a point to that post? Or are you gonna start a thread everytime you buy something (or think about buying, then don't)?

Was reading on the other thread about your ex-friend Simon, and his suggestion that you were 'reliant' on S.Net for interaction ... hmmm

oh dear.

My point is, noise cancellation headphones, I have some, does anyone else.... discuss. Its how forums tend to work mate

So you were saying, is there a point.... by the replies above, I guess there is, yes
PS, im hardly the only SN user who posts "what shall I buy"

Serious though, I would or will buy the BOSE ones if the need arises, as the sound on them was superb
Just cant justifu £200 at the mo

They look like cheap copies of the Seinnheiser CX300.

Ive got the CX300 and they are great headphones for the price (c.£20, but used to be c.£50). They arent Noise Cancelling, but due to the squidgy rubber surrounds they do reduce the amibient noise a lot.

I use them all day everyday at work (cos I work in a very noisy office) and even without them plugged in, drastically cut the noise out, which means that when I have them hooked up to my mp3 player I dont need the unit on very loud (4 out of 20 is loud enough to completely block out all the ambient noise, but not loud enough so that it gives me a headache / tinnitus)

Wear them in the office, how cool I could do with a pair for work (when I work) given how loud everyone is in the office too lol.

I saw the price of the Seinnheisers out there too, something like $269 for the in ear ! I almost fainted.

I like quality, but some of the prices are shocking, but I guess it depends how important SQ is to each person.

Mine are Philips SHN5500 Active Noise Cancelling Headphones
Effective and worth the money. The ear band bits feel awkward though, so would consider upgrading at some point to something without them lol

Snazy can't make a decision on anything with out asking SN's opinion. Don't get me wrong i'm sure your a nice bloke but unfortunately your constant drivel about what your doing, whats going on in your life and asking peoples opinion about everything you ever do is starting to pee me off a bit.

I'm obviously not the only one who notices it.

"its all about ME....." comes to mind.

Also get a life and get off your PC comes to mind. Get some real friends.

How much are they though?

With in ear ones I tend to find that after an hour or so they wont stay in, maybe my ears swell or something haha.

I try not to look, problem is every bleeding thread I look at sanzy has a "this one time at band camp....." or "if I was at band camp what would you do..." type story.

My god he is ruining this board. I'm sorry but the sad ****** even goes on holiday and spends 90% of the time posting on SN

To many people are afraid to post what I say but look at the thmbs up on my post, an indication of people that agree with me.

Have a look at ultimate ears super fi pro 5 iem's, well worth the money.

You can go as far as custom moulds but they're £700 a pop so usually reserved for musicians.

Cheapest place is ebay naturally.

Seven hundred quid, fookin ouch !
One of these days I must go to a music shop and see if I can actually hear the difference between mid range ones and top end ones....

I guess some people just cant hear the difference, and others can hear the clarity.

Well i certainly did hear the difference, the pro 5's are around the £100 mark if you shop around but they do lesser models should that be too rich.

If you do plump for them check their site, they have a guide that shows you how to switch the cables to fit the cables around the back of the ears, i found this more comfortable, the good thing about these phones also is most of the parts are replaceable and they have good customer service.

I may plump for the customs but we'll see.

UE-11 Pro Description - Products - Ultimate Ears Earphones Headphones Personal Monitors

They do block near everything out if it's peace and quiet that you're after, id keep them clean as with all iem's they can bring on infections if you don't bother cleaning em.

Id avoid the eb models they tend to be boomy.

Superb mate, thanks for the heads up, and taking the thread more seriously than others

I guess im an "average" person when it comes to sound. No distortion is a must, but then I guess there is a line to draw with regards to whats distortion too.

I would prob draw the line at £100 for headphones, unless there was a seriousl noticable difference.

Well that's the good thing with the ue's they have good sensitivity so an mp3 player can manage them without distorting.

Shure on the other hand really need a headphone amp in order to shine.

Oh i love my music so any can i use has to be up to the job.

Tell you what snazy do a poll for

"who thinks it is sad to go on holiday and spend half the time on scoobynet"

You are the only person on a board that I have ever seen that does that. Absolutely pathetic.

Up Choppers **** by the sounds of things.

Chopper...... if I really cared about your comments, I am sure I would be in tears by now... However, your opinion is your own. Sadly you seem as obsessive about my posts as Simon.... Friends are you ?

Regards the poll, post it I will vote that its pathetic, after all, thats what Simon did on FB, unlike me who spent most of the days at the parks and other places. I didnt buy the photos you know
