Naked PF...
That got you clicking - but I'm afraid it's coffee I'm talking about...
I've recently upgraded my espresso machine and treated it (or rather myself) to a naked portafilter...
...and I'm absolutely amazed at the difference that it's made in taste / crema volume / everything! Almost like a different coffee or a different machine.
If you've not tried one, and love your espresso as I do, then try a naked PF!
It's also fascinating to watch..... as the thick dark coffee emerges and a tiger striped cone forms and pours into the cup below.

Oh yes! This week I've given the old Gaggia (classic) a good (strip-down) clean, descale and treated it to a new shower-screen -and the naked PF (which included a new double basket)...
... Also disposed of the original Gaggia steam wand and upgraded to a Rancilio Silvia one.
Trying to convince Mrs No that I REALLY do have room next to the machine for a nice Iberital MC2 grinder....
If you've not found it before, I can highly recommend UK Coffee Suppliers - Happy Donkey for anything coffee geeky!

Ooh some good stuff there,we need to buy a knock box, tamper and mat. Our machine has a tamper built in but you have to lift the filter basket up to tamp it which isn't ideal. A knock box is a definite must as we drink so much of the stuff that the bin is taking a right beating considering how often we knock out the grinds Do you drink chocolate too? We've got some Monbana which is very nice

Hmm interesting however for me that link just shows coffee and no filters - I even followed their own link from here:
Research and buy bottomless and naked portafilters

Step by step then...
Go to UK Coffee Suppliers - Happy Donkey
You'll see coffee in the main window, and in the left-hand pane there are two navigation boxes, with links... One is titled "Categories" and the other "Help"
If you want naked PFs, then take the third link from the bottom of the "Categories" list, entitled "Bottomless Filters"
You'll then get a list of manufacturers, and you click the relevant link to see the naked PF.
Easy!

Ah, that explains that then! I was simply pointing to a serious coffee retailer that I've found really useful... where I got my naked pf and a bunch of other bits from... they do the Iberital MC2 at a price that is proving difficult to ignore as well....
I believe your Krups uses a pressurised pf Simon, so you may well find that a naked pressurised pf is either difficult or impossible to make - as opposed to the standard pf which can be converted to naked by simply chopping the bottom off it!
Taking spanners to the insides of my Gaggia now, to try and get the pressure down to about 8-9 bar.
Modding my Scoob and PC (and quite a few other bits of electronics that I own) is one thing... but I never imagined getting into the world of modded espresso machines!!!
