does that 850 include the shipping to Poland
Ive been doing a LOT of selling on ebay of late, and at least 50% of the stuff I have sold has gone abroad and ive learnt very quick that postage is very expensive but the buyers are willing to pay

Most international payments are via Paypal, anyway. Have you told this guy that the shipping of the bike will cost him £150? Or, does he mean he is willing to pay up to £850 (presuming that it may cost you up to £150 to ship it over) including P&P?
Perhaps he is genuinely interested in that bike? If he turns out to be the highest bidder, I'd wait for the money in my Paypal account first, then only I would know if he weren't talking porkie pies.
One more thing. Communicating with other Europian buyers is a nightmare due to the language barrier. Clarify things well in advance with any of the buyers abroad. If I were you, I wouldn't sell something like a montain bike to anyone abroad. Too much hassle with shipping etc.

It will then get reversed when the 'buyer' claims fraudulent use of his credit card a month later, and paypal will take the money back out directly from your bank account, or if you dont have funds in there will start legal proceedings to get it back.
The buyer may well be genuine, but in any case I would ask for payment by international bank transfer - if he is a genuine buyer he should have no problem with this.

I dont do much selling on ebay anymore, but there is no way I would even consider accepting paypal for something that valuable. All the guy has to do is say the bloke never arrived and he can claim his money back. Assuming he even uses a legit credit card in the first place which wont be reversed later.
Direct bank transfer is th eonly way I would do it. The chap will need toknow your accounts IBAN number to do this.

If he has a paypal verified address and you get proof of postage then this should protect you under their rules.
However, I wouldn't use paypal if they were the last option on earth and if this is a scam they will try thier damndest to make it look like you are at fault and take the cash back.

the seller gets the bums rush with PayPal, avoid it like the plague.
Even if you do everything right, they always side with the buyer.
And proof of postage doesn't mean a thing.
It has to be TRACKABLE for PayPal. Which you won't get to Poland.
Tell you what, I'll give you £900 and pay you by PayPal.
I'm in the UK and after you've checked your PayPal account I'll collect it in person from you.
It doesn't stop me making a claim through PayPal when I get back. You'll end with no bike and no money and I'll have a bike to sell on (£500 for quick cash sale)
easy money for me!
so wanna sell it me?
Waggy
