I know, I know its been done to death but would just like an uptoday option.
I watch normal tv / sky not really in to my sport and sometime watch the odd film on sky movies.
What should I buy, Plasma or LCD ??
I am wanting the new Sony that comes out in October, no bigger than a 42"
Cant remember the model number but is coming out at around £2k
What would I loose or gain from going to plasma ?

Bit difficult to say until the screen is released and we can see what it looks like when running ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
For me, plasma is still the king though. Better refresh rates and better colours (especially on the larger screens).

I would not touch an LCD, plasma all the way. Ask any high end audio bod what large TV they have and most will say plasma (or a projector).
I spent 7 months looking at panels before I bought and LCD was canned very early on in the search.

Another
for Plasma here. Did quite a bit of research and found the picture more lifelike. LCD is too clinical to me which suits animations but not much else, especially SD content and Sport. Been running a Pioneer 42" for 2 months now and its awesome - just gotta sort out a PS3 to watch some blu-ray now.

At the risk of repeating myself, I have a large and expensive Sony LCD TV, that was raved about in reviews when it came out. It very good, for an LCD: but if I was spending my own money then Id be looking at a gas-plasma set.
With regards to 'done to death': a couple of years ago there were lots of "what LCD TV for £2,500" threads and now there are lots of "what LCD for £500" threads.....
