Hi
Righty, here's the deal. I'd like to, very occasionally, use the internet away from home via a mobile device. It'll mainly be during my breaks in my van, a little for work maybe, and sometimes just for the hell of it!
I have a mobile phone but use it very little as I have a work mobile...and no friends! I think this year, I've put a tenner on it (PAYG) so I'm not interested in paying ~ £30 pm for an iPhone et al.
Is there anything a fat fingered northerner can use to get online, in a van, for not a lot of cash?![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)

Vodafone do a thing on mobiles were you can pay for so much download time think its about £8 per month. They also do a device that plugs into a laptop for £15 per month i had said thing and found it totally useless they asured me i lived in a good area but it was hopeless. I say get min contract on vodafone with tinternet thingymyjig bundle.

I do have a laptop, but, I don't neccasarilly know when I'm gonna get my break and when I do get it, it's only 30 mins so probably not long enough to coax it into life...don't fancy having it nicked either, that said it hasn't got 000s of people's details on it so I doubt it would go far! ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Will look at V' and 3. What device should I be looking at? Does the PSP go online?

You would be better off geting a 2nd hand unlocked iPhone and using a t-mobile payg simcard with web n walk. It costs a pound a day for unlimited within reason use but that will be basic browsing no youtube or flash videos and it will be a bit slow. And the pound a day means only if you connect to the web if you don't use it you won't be charged. If you find you do use it every day you can pay in advance an get it much cheaper I think its £15/month then.

ok i work for vodafone...
if you can get hold of a modem you can get a sim only connection which entitles you to i think £200 credit which basically means the whole contract free. it's normally £15 a month, where you get 3GB of allowance, with the connection only - you dont need fantastic credit rating too
contact me if you need to buy a modem
