Default Just because...

... a member may not drive the Subaru brand (for whatever reason) any more, should they not post as much/at all on here any more.

Please discuss, as I anticipate a good debate on this.

P.s., I have made the poll multiple answer as I think it's suitable.

I'm now considered a troll, even though I was often dismissive of certain aspects of the marque before I got out, prior to the bubble bursting.

Haven't, wouldn't - think they're crap.

This is non-scooby related, so sort of makes the thread irrelevant

Some of the best posters on here don't drive a Subaru - what does it matter? The point is we all contribute and who cares whether a poster drives one or not.

This is really what I want to discuss, and understand what other posters' opinions are. Hence Mr Pierre, why it's been asked in NSR not General , making it quite relevant.

Interestingly though, it would be nice to know the extended opinions of those who have voted 'no' at the bottom of the poll. Maybe I should have made it so people can view others votes?

I started this poll because I have seen it from both sides of the barrel recently, with me being in the Subaru brand for 2 or so years (since I joined), and then most recently being forced out of it (for well publicised financial reason). My personal annoyance is when having a debate or a little friendly banter, the usual culprits come along and blurt out "well, you don't drive a Scoob, so why are you even on here" crap. Thats my opinion, and as said I am interested to see others, regardless whether they are in agreement with myself or total dis-agreement, or indeed whether they drive or don't drive within the Subaru marque.

This forum has grown far beyond its incarnation of Subaru owners and enthusiasts. It wouldn't survive without the non-drivers of said brand.

It's irrelevant

Voted.

I think as long as you have/ have had an interest in Subarus, then of course you should still post. Then again as long as your not just a troll you should post, it's what keeps this site so busy - and me interested.

The reason why this site is so busy.

The Subaru element is mostly a side order of salad and not bothered with.

I've been here a long time and it's been a long time since I owned my scooby (I do wish I'd kept it) but I don't see why I should go away. I admit I don't venture into General these days but the view is nicer in here anyway.

i vote Yes, if they genuinely contribute to discussions.I part ex'd my STi 05 for a M3,i think i offer some unbiased opinion and i don't think Subaru's are the best cars or the fastest like some of the owners do but i'm not like some who have sold theirs then come on here and slag em off.

anyway i like to post in sport because i have great knowledge of football you've seen my posts COB.

I did own a WRX, but that was a good few years ago now. The thing is, I did own a Civic Type R before that and I was a member of the CTR forum, I have not been on there since I got rid, same with my boxster, was on Boxa.net and now I never go on. Why did I stay here? Its a very good forum, lots to talk about and loads of banter. Thats what makes a forum fun, I dont go on forums to be boring.. its about having a laugh... My daily forums now are here and Piston Heads and thats it really.

My take is that back in the day SN was, as the name suggests, primarily a subaru only forum, however things evolve and whilst the majority of users do own subarus, a lot do not. They may, like myself, have moved on, and may come back into the fold, then again, perhaps not. Some people here haven't owned a subaru and possibly never will.

I learnt a fair bit during my ownership days from others on this board, and if I can answer a question I will. I see no reason why I shouldn't be "allowed" to do this even though I no longer own a subaru.

I tend to hang around computer related a fair bit and probably answer far more questions in there than anywhere else, and I like to think I'm being useful and helpful in doing so, thus giving something back to the community which has given a fair bit to me over the years

Look, I still feel the need to reminisce how Subaru used to make nice Imprezas, before it went all goggle-eyed and blobby (then pucker-mouthed and squinty, before finally being just plain Fugly), then seemingly to became a choice acessesory for skin head knuckle draggers, losing its Q-car appeal.

And anyway, although I grew to hate Imprezas, I still like Legacys (always have done...before the Impreza even existed...1991 Leggy 4cam turbo...Mmmmmm, now thats a propa' Scooby And always campaigned and questioned as to why no decent versions are officially imported these days.

Also the Subaru EXIGA is a interesting MPV estate thingy (think Peugeot 307SW with AWD and a turbo ). Just when you thought a Zafira GSi was a big enough statement to show that one refuses to be dragged into the sensibility and practicality demands of parenthood

Afterall, this is SCOOBYnet, not Imprezanet

I had a Subaru and sold it 9 years ago. I am still interested in Subarus and found the general information and help I can find here good so I have stayed.

Andy,

Naff off to www.pugsRus.com

I couldn't care less what people drive, if you wanna post post.

Can I have commision from your commisions for this recommendation.

You missed the "Whatever" option off the poll. So I haven't voted.
