Jon Bon Jovi... I'll go one better than 84of300 and say that I absolutely adore this man, and group, and his/their music..

NOT feckin' Mariah bleedin' Carey, Celine barstard Dion or anyone like them. They are seemingly incapable of refraining from vocally scribbling all over any song they attempt to sing. Proper singers can wring floods of emotion from the listener by singing one perfect note awesomely, whereas these charlatans are the sonic equivalent of "crinoline lady" bog-roll covers.

There's so many and for so many reasons ![Ponder2](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/ponder2.gif)
Nat King Cole stands out with such a beautiful and gentle timbre, and yet capable of outstanding power too.
Aretha, for her timing and effortless power and tonality.
Stevie was great, the opening of 'Yester-you' is one of my favorite vocals ever, but in recent years he's drifted into that rambling warbling like an old, black Mariah
And I can never forgive him for 'I just called....' ![Razz](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/razz.gif)
Billie Holiday of course, along with Ella Fitzgerald and Julie London. And the great male soul singers like Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye and Otis Redding.
In more recent years kd lang has impressed me. Rock singers such as Bono and Paul Rodgers, although I don't care for the screaming vocal style of heavierstuff like GnR or ACDC. Even in pop, the like of Paul Carrack are good.
I've also like searching out lesser known artists. One which has always stood out to me is Loreena McKennit. On her recording of Bonny Portmore the first line gently opens as a breathy Irish lilt, only for the power of her vocal in the second line to make the hairs stand on end, every time I hear it.
As I said, so may artists for so many reasons. Oh, and I'll allow Elvis if we only credit his early career

Sorry, 84 but ..I am 110% worshipful of JBJ- both voice and body, and would give anything to be his love slave
I'm sat here salivating over this one..

He may have aged (as we all do!) but I can assure you he was looking scorching hot when I saw him about 2 months ago
