Listening to Radio 4 or any of the news channels we get a lot from the US elections and hear those women speak. Ex-hopeful Hilary and McKain's new biatch, mother of 11, most pregnant, kids, Sarah Palin whose only experience has been running a creche or something........
But their voices - aaaghhhhh. They really grate with me. Horrible nasal tones. Trouble is once you become aware of it the worse it gets.
Bush, of course, has several gold medals for single handedly destroying the English language.
So I wondered who I enjoyed actually listening to? Joanne Lumley with that husky voice with a hint of sexual innuendo and perhaps Kirsty Young with impeccable diction (and horny with it
)
On the male side Richard Burton is near the top of my list and Morgan Freeman shows that USese can be rescued.
So do you have any favourites or pet hates?
Note this is not a regional accent question so please pretend that Brummie is great

I'd like to sound like Mariella Fostrup![Thumb](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif)

In politicians, I have been liking Obama's voice lately ![Cool](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)
In comedians, I like Mr. Jonathan Ross's voice.
I like to hear Ross Kemp in documentaries.
In actors, Sean Connory (sp.) getsh my mosht votes for hish very shekshy voishe
Denzel Washington's voice is quite imressive too.
Chris Evans's voice still remains most entertaining to me for radio relays.
