Red face Ferrari International Assistance to the rescue.

Lewis given a 25 sec penalty and demoted to 3rd place.

W@NKERS!!!!!!!!

What a joke of a sport F1 has become.

Where the hell was he supposed to go? Kimi forced him off the track, he rejoins ahead and backs off to let him re-pass. Then does him into the La Source.. All perfectly sensible to me.

This is becoming a poor excuse for a sport.

What a complete and utter corrupt pile of sh*t F1 has become.
Not only do other teams have to pay Ferarri to compete but now it appears they have to compete against complete and utter bias and corruption.

I shall no longer take this absolute load of bollocks seriously.

Its a sad day for F1 because it'sn ow proved to the world just how bent and unfair it is.

Total sham. Where was he supposed to go, what was he supposed to do?

I let him past, and then managed to re-catch him and pass him. What more is there to do other than that. Not to mention Raikkonen crashed out, I suppose that was his fault too

If I were the other teams I would be tempted to just pack up and move off to a different competition. Complete and utter tosh.

What a p!ss take this is!!

As already said where was he suppose to go when he got pushed to the outside of the corner, just crash??

At the end of the day even if he did stay ahead and gain an advantage (which he didn't) what difference would it have made anyway as Raikkonen didn't even finish the race.

Funny how its 25 seconds and not 10, if it was 10 then he would have still finished ahead of massa.

What a joke.

aye, a very carefully selected penalty. There is no way they are going to let Mclaren win the championship. Whatever they have to do, whenever it is, they are totally biased against them.

I hope there is an appeal to get this overturned. It affects all the teams on the grid. I'd just pack up and walk off, there is no point going to the party when they do stuff like that.

There is no point in watching anymore races as ferrari have already won.The FIA are a bunch of biased wa@*ers.
Last race, Massa in the pits pulls out when unsafe $10000 fine?
Hamilton forced off the track uses escape road but then allows ferrari to pass.
25 second penalty.
I will not watch another race.

Unbeleivable.

Raikonnen crashed out so no advatage was gained

What got me was when Mark Blundell said that possibly Hamilton had an advantage due to momentum by cutting the chicane. He slowed down to let Raikonnen pass, so any added momentum was lost at that point.

I've had a look on the F1 site and the reson it is 25 seconds is because in incident was inside the last 5 laps, and therefore its a 25 second time penalty rather than a drive through.

Either way, it's an absolute joke; Hamilton had 2 options: Crach into Raikonnen, or use the escape route. He gained a place by doing so and gave the place back immediately after.

Just had a look at the finishing times.
Massa was 14 seconds behind him and Heidfeld 23 seconds.

This is blatently a corrupt decision as a 25 second penalty "conveniently" puts him in third.

Aren't penalties normally given in 10 second intervals?

This just takes the **** out of peope who genuinely love this sport.
I doubt I'll ever watch another race after this total and utter corrupt, biased, bullsh*t decision.

The 25 second penalty is in the rules. If the incident is in the last five laps a 25 second penalty is applied rather than a drive through penalty.

Moot point though, because there should be no penalty applied at all in the instance.

I'm fuming. I hope McLaren appeal, make a big song and dance and finally pull out if the result is not changed. Its not about getting your own way, but what is the point in racing if you are not allowed to win

I'm a Ferrari fan, but firstly an F1 fan and this sort of decision does nothing for the sport. I can see why, if I look really hard , the penalty was awarded in that even though Hamilton backed off to let Kimi back past he still retained some momentum and hence MAY have had an advantage at the next corner when he did overtake him.

However this is extremely tenuous and at a time when the sport is suffering due to a succession of stupid rule changes in the last few years that are making it a virtual procession in most of the races I think the race stewards and the FIA would have done well to just leave things be. Especially wehn you consider that Kimi crashed out of the race anyway for God's sake.

As it is F1 now has another nail hammered into its already nearly closed coffin.

Sorry but your 1st comment is horsesh1t, even if he hadn't taken to the escape road, he was right on Raikonnens gearbox anyway, and he would of passed him on the straight before the hairpin regardless. Anyway the 'decision' is corrupt and purely for the benefit of Ferrari, so that Mosley can feel smug that he has buggered mclaren over once again. The whole thing stinks

OK, no need to be abusive. As I said you have to look really hard and added one of these to give you a hint. Please try and read the inference in my paragraph rather than just getting all high and mighty. Thanks!

Kimi was going so slow it looked like Hamilton had a run on him but commonsense, the fact Kimi came past him shows that not to be the case.

Outraeous decision. If Massa has anything about him, or Kimi for that matter they should come out in support of Hamilton because it is not the way to win a championship.

If it isn't reversed it would be good to see McLaren withdraw from the next race completely in protest. I know that can't happen for financial reasons but it is that disgraceful.

5t.

The reality is bollocks all will be done about this, the circus will continue to be and Ferrari will still get the results it wants.

The only thing that will sort this is if evryone switches off and doesn't watch another race. I can't see that happening can you?

Is that since Schumacher won at Silverstone in the pit lane on his drive through penalty?

What a complete and utter farce

What about Kimi using the run off areas twice before he spun twice and crashed out

Im so glad he crashed out

Hamilton should just take out both ferraris on every race till the end of the season, thereby winning the championship
