Im off to Spain on Friday & am taking my TomTom. Does anyone have the TomTom Spain/Europe file as I only have UK. I have a TomTom1, though I think any tomtom maps will work. If possible could anyone email to me (may have to be zipped).
My email: ricky@hindeshotel.com
Many thanks,
Ricky

It's not that simple ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Maps are locked and you can't simply transfer them between devices without codes and so forth.
Apparently there are torrents to do this, but I can't help I'm afraid. I just bought my new maps from Tomtom and I didn't want to brick mine!

as above, all original maps are locked to the individual tomtoms. you will either have to fork out £65 from tomtom.com or download a dodgy copy.
one trip round europe worked ok with a dodgy one on my mates spv phone, however you cannot download any updates etc.
worth getting the proper thing imo as it will at least be up to date.

just back from the Belgian grand Prix last night, we flew into Schipol and hired a car to drive to Belgium using the tom tom with euro map, cant recommend this thing highly enough TBH, when we got close to Spa we started to see signs to take us to the circuit we decided to ignore the tom tom and follow the signs instead, woo and behold we ended up well lost on some back roads that were more suited to tractors, switched tom tom back on and it picked up our position no probs and got us out and straight back onto the road were supposed to be on, cant recommend this highly enough

Mapshare only applies to the map currently installed, in this case the UK. To get mapshare for the rest of europe you will need to buy the western europe map from tomtom.com. If you buy the map you will need a broadband connection with a good data allowance because the download is nearly 2GB in size.

Oh sh*t, Harrow maybe a bit too far, like 200miles (ish) from North Yorkshire. . .
Harrogate would have been ideal though!
Maybe there's someone on scoobynet a little closer to you that could help?
Sorry!

That Western Europe map is very good value
It includes all major roads and is perfectly useable for most navigation.
I've been around France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy & Austria on it with no real problems.
I've been gobsmacked at the detail available on the individual country 'plus' maps though, try driving around a remote french mountain village with 5 scoobies following you

Apparently there are some people that actually illegally distribute maps for Tomtoms. So that you can report them, the naughty people can be found here: The Pirate Bay - The world's largest BitTorrent tracker
(I have a Garmin and haven't ever tried dodgy TomTom maps)
