hmm let me think... the government make money on the fuel, the higher it is the more they make, so no pressure on encouraging lower pump prices so the people will benefit in this current climate...
They pay for their own fuel...hmm nope we do in taxes.
Erm I think we have 2 hopes and one of them is dead.

I think when oil prices peaked the $ to £ was nearly 2 : 1 , it has now gone down to 1.75 : 1 so this is offsetting the oil barrel going from circa $140 to $100. Also, due to lag with stocks working it's way through we probably won't see much drops. fecking great eh!
IMHO.

When will the Gas/Elect pice drop, all the energy companies were quick to raise their prices and tell us its because the price is linked to Oil but they dont seem to keen to reduce it now its gone back down ?
There is a word for these companies and their policies, it rhymes with Punts.
After the goverment, when my revolution comes into force, the Directors of Oil, Gas and Electric companies are next against the wall, along with Gary Glitter, Ian Beale off Eastenders and the whole cast of Big Brother.

Why restrict it to just Ian Beale from Eastenders
Fuel has gone down in price, its at least 10p a litre cheaper than it was when a barrel of oil went up a bit back and everyone was complaining

It's amazing isn't it? A few years ago when it hit 85p a litre driven by market forces we had wall to wall petrol protests and blockades.
Now we have the situation where the price went up as oil went to $135 a barrel and hasn't really gone down that much as it drops to less than $100 a barrel and no one bats an eyelid.
Someone needs to ask the petrol companies and the government a question, but no one, not one person seems to give a damn. The British way I guess.

The Police are always arresting people down at the local refinery. - 6 Police cars, a meat wagon and the helicopter for 5 protester's recently.
The case's always seems to get dropped at court though, according to the local papers.

Your not allowed to complain nowadays. And it's enforced rigorously.

As you know, I was replying to f1-fan's comment that we (British) don't give a damn. It was not meant malicously, just saying why I think (know) that people aren't doing anything about it.
Why do you ask?

The not giving a damn comment is spot on. We all moan in the pubs, on the boards, at home, yet do bugger all about it. No wonder they just constantly drain what we have left, which is not much.
Sorry, it's off topic, well slightly. I worry about the winter as we have oil central heating and you have no idea how much that has gone up
