Default Recognise this plug?

Removed the head unit from the car and found this cable floating loose behind it. One end has a plug that fits into the bottom of an ipod, the other end looks like this:

It measures 10mm by 10mm and has 13 pins inside. I`m guessing it should plug into the external CD disc changer socket but the head unit doesn`t have one. I think a previous owner just left the cable there. Anyone know which brand of player it might fit?

prehaps if we knew what car & headunit, we may have a bit more to go on,

many oem,s leave plugs for future use/ options behind panels, just because

its there, dosent mean it will work, but it helps if we know what options

you allready have

I don`t actually need the cable, as I said it was just loose behind the head unit. I have a 2006 wrx with the standard head unit that works fine. I was hoping someone might recognize the plug and tell me what it will fit.

It looks like a CD changer cable, maybe there is one on the other end or most likely you have another connector the same in the boot.

If you don't need it, bin it! To buy a head unit to fit a wire you don't need is, well, daft. The cable itself, even if you knew what it fitted, is just about worthless as you'd be able to get one new for peanuts.
