Firstly, this is not my 1st post - new identity to protect the innocent!!
So, on the 22 August I attended an interview with a large company (very large). It went very well and I know that there are few others with the skills (I do a very specialised job).
The prospective boss e-mailed me, thanked me for coming and said he would get back to me - 5th September latest.
So far the company has sent me expenses for my troubles, and that’s all. I’ve not received a YES or NO and its 3 weeks later.
So, the poll is – Will I get a job offer: YES or NO??
Simple as that!!! unless somebody woudl like to suggest what has happened here!!
They have offered the job to someone else but don't want to put you off in case the other person says no or they cannot agree a salary, that way you can be a plan b if they have to settle for second best.

Thats my guess too!!! But hey, at least I've provided you guys some entertainment..............

That would be my guess as well. What's with the claiming expenses anyhow, sheesh these permies have it easy
have you spoken to any of your referees to see if they have been approached failing that they must have decided you don't want it as you didn't chase it up.
It's a big company, so they will always be late in getting back to you unless you're an absolute star (I do this often myself, sometimes up to two weeks later). A polite phone call after the deadline would have helped your cause, something now looks like an afterthought. Next?
