We were out looking for bbq fuel last weekend, everywhere we looked had already cleared it out of their 'seasonal' aisle and replaced it with f**king xmas decorations... more than three whole months away from xmas day
A couple of years ago we fled the country for South Africa... I'm sorely tempted to do the same again...

I HATE all the commercial sh1te that goes with the modern "Xmas".
If you are of the religious persuasion, then it's the Cristian Christmas message that's important. If, like me, your not, then it should be about family/friends, enjoying yourself.
Not the whole, my tree, lights, decorations, turkey, party is bigger, better, more expensive, more unique, special than yours. If that's what you want, fine, but don't try and ram it down my throat, or try to make me feel like some evil Scrooge because I don't want to get involved in your obscene commercialised excesses

One of the schools my wife teaches at bans the word Christmas until December 1st. Any child caught saying is put in detention.
The ONLY person allowed to discuss Christmas is my wife and that's ONLY to get the school band practicing the Christmas Carols for the concert.

Christmas is well underway by June/July where I work. The gardening stuff is condensed down bit by bit to start the Christmas layouts. It's not too bad at first, as it's only toys, but now we already have the cards/giftwrap and decorations etc. are due to come in within the next week or two.
Basically, when one Christmas is over, the next one is almost immediately being planned. If there was a time I enjoyed it, that's long gone since working in retail.

I have an idea:
Why don't we all buy all the presents now. Order all the food now. Get all the decorations / cards / invites whatever done NOW.
and then have **** all to do UNTIL Christmas!

A place round here already has a tree up outside with lights. As I was in the car and paying attention to the road I could not get a picture.
The Halloween items were on shelves three months ago as well, so I fully expect to see Christmas type things in the shops soon. Madness!

Two garden centres on the way into Woburn Sands, Frosts and Wyevale have their Christmas sections already up. Its too early.
I think there should be a date when shops TV can start getting out Christmas stuff, say 1 December is quite early enough.
