I believe mine was 18/- in 1970 
I remember that the test went up to 30/- on 1st January 1971 and my brother gave me this for my test. I booked it early though and made a profit

Can't remember but petrol was around 5/-9d per gallon
And no speed cameras, no national limit, not many cars, no breathalyser, no seat belts IIRC.................

I am afraid that they did, but my dad got away with it, in fact he could have driven an HGV if he wanted.

but al least I enjoyed the days when there was no traffic worth speaking about! Only coppers in Wolesleys with a bell on the front bumper and a lit up badge on the radiator which you could see in the mirror at night while they were following you. The first four wheel drift I ever did was in my dad's Morris 8 series E, downhill and in the wet, dad was not in the car Great days.
