I googled it for you
Yahoo answers said that everyone can earn a certain amount each year without paying any Income Tax. This is called your 'personal allowance'. In 2006-2007 the personal allowance is £5,035.

2007-2008 and 2008-09 can't be far off that limit.

HM Revenue & Customs: Chancellor increases personal tax allowance

Of course, you don't have to earn anything to be taxed, they tax you when you spend it too, and when they give it back to you, and especially when you die when they tax your already taxed earnings, and all your possessions that you paid tax on when you bought them all over again. The money in our pockets is only there because they allow us to have a little to keep us sweet, but it's all theirs really, every penny.

All the L codes went up by 60 in September. This shower had to give back the 10% on the first 2k that they took away
