Ah the delightful Tidders. It seems a lot of people leave after being in the Bulford/Tidworth loop.

Mrs Leslie sells poppies each year and this year while the box was on the table our monster cat leapt in on top of the poppies and went to sleep! He persisted in this so when the bloke came to pick up the cash and the box, he saw the cat sleeping on the box so he said we could keep it!

Well I was there for about 4 hours and we made more than than the boys did on tuesday (£1000 ish), not sure of totals yet but it cleared that when i left.

I only had 1 comment that really annoyed me and that was from a woman who, well i wont go into describing what i thought of her, wouldnt let her little boy get a Poppy as "she didnt believe in it" . She even shouted at him to get away from us!!!

What annoyed me was that she may or may not believe in the war in Iraq/Afghan but she clearly didnt understand what the RBL is about!!!!!

However I was more than impressed by the age diversity in people that came to get the poppies. The drunk people were amusing and the older generation had some great stories if not a little long winded .

I look forward to doing this again anytime.

Right I'm off to get smashed now.....

P.S not on any of the proceeds from today I may add

Stilover......I should have mentioned that my No2 dress isnt my second best dress i own but my ceremonial uniform, my bad .

There's all to many about.

Even if you've no money to give, a thank you will go a long way.

To the OP, good effort that man.

I spent 2 1/2 years in /NI and i came across a fair few slitter of throaters but never over a poppy, what shames me is that this has nothig to do with religion etc etc this is about the men and womem past and PRESENT that rely on the support of the RBL some of which unfortuately are my friends.

God forbid someone that tries to argue against me on this especially face to face, I respect a good arguement but have no time for people anti-leg blown off etc etc.

Go there, survive, comment!

Anyhoo I rant which helps after a minor scuffle with a group of yoofs who decided they didnt like me wearing a poppy, needless to say im not typing this from a hospital bed
