Aye, i was right..taken from the ebay paypal tutorial page...

Verifying your PayPal Account
In order to safeguard the security of everyone using the PayPal system all new PayPal account holders have a spending limit of up to £500.

Doing a quick google, I have foudn that if you verify your bank account ( this is where paypal send you 2 or 3 tiny amounts into your accounts over a few days, which you then confirm on the link they send you (again IIRC), and then your spending limits should be raised.. apparently!

From Paypal Help
Question :Why does my account have limits?

Answer : When you sign up for a PayPal account your account is subject to initial sending, receiving and withdrawal limits. These limits have been put in place to comply with European anti-money laundering legislations. To lift your account's limits, please follow the steps below:

To lift your account's limits, please follow the steps below: Here's how:
  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Select the Lift your account limits link in the To Do list on the Account Overview page or the View Limits link if the first one is not displayed.
  3. Complete all required steps listed. Once you have done this, your account will be verified and all limits will be lifted.
See if that works

Paypal as safety proof as ever then , they should set a daily limit of £500 for new accounts so the max you can get fleeced by George Agdgdgwngo is £500 in one day rather than getting your account emptied.

You're WELL racist you - George Agdgdgwngo was innocent - It was his uncle Umbongo Bngwgwgonoggoghn who was the dodgy one.

A bit like this scumbag : Olanrewaju Apalara

But let's not let this get out of context. You can't judge a nation by 200 million bad apples.
