I don't drink wine, but have been at the table where people have ordered £200+ bottles of wine (on expenses of course!).

recently, in changi airport, I saw a bottle of whiskey and 2 glasses for SGD30K, so about 13 grand.

it's all a bit wasted on me - I'm good with a 30 quid bottle of wine

Computers during the dotcom boom. I worked for a company that for a little while had a market cap slightly larger than General Motors (which was insane of course).

£22.50 for a bottle and glass of Champaigne in a strip club at San Jose. That was very expensive considering the shop 3 doors down was selling the same beer for £0.40. Although I did get a lap dance chucked in

I'm imagining "Top Totty" in San Jose which makes you spending £22.50 like royalty and subject to the "best of the best" local lap dancing talent, whereas £4 on a bottle of beer in a darkened Grimsby nightclub.....

Hello Les, I expected to see a reference to a few rather rare bottles of pop from you! .....

Most of them "looted/liberated" from various military campaigns (ala Kellys Heroes) over the years

If I won the lottery I'd probably pick on or two from the top of this list to sample: Single Malt Scotch Whisky : The Whisky Exchange

Unfortunately the reality of it is that probably the most expensive tipples I've indulged in are the odd bottle of vintage champers and some single cask malt whiskys, both around £50 a bottle.

1971 Lafite Rothschild customer paid for the bottle and gave me a glass worked out at £125 per glass. Drunk a range of Chateau Palmers from 100- 500 per bottle. Drunk a fair few 'big' wines but never had Petrus or Chateau Yquem. Not being flash just used to be part of my job to choose and buy wine so have been given lots and lots as incentives.

Glenfarclas Great little place, lovely boardroom, great tour, nice whiskey. I've got a bottle of cask strength in my wine cellar (cupboard under the stairs), I might crack it open if there's ever a fuel shortage.
