Russell Brand's Ponderland.....
So most people must have watched it last night after all the recent hoo-ha.
I thought it was excellent, but then I am a fan.
I imagine those who do not Russell anyway would hate it.
So who doesn't like RB but is now changing thier mind after the recent press and last night TV extraveganza.
I hurt myself laughing when he licked out that Butterfly at the end

He never left them, it was a radio show
You know what you get with Brand, and obviously you either love it or hate it. The real idiot was the person that allowed a pre-recorded show with that content to go out.
I think they over-stepped the mark, but it certainly isn't worth the coverage it has got.
I think it will do his career the world of good

My girlfriend likes to read and loves his book, apparently he has an amazing use of words and is a very intelligent chap apart from that she says she doesn't like him lol, apparently he admits to being self centred and egotistical or something along those lines....me I just think hes a **** and not worth thinking about.

Of course what you meant is...
"I personally do not like him, so I will chose to switch over channels if he comes on. I would, however, never dream of trying to restrict others people viewing. The last thing I want is to become a Mary Whitehouse type laughing stock"

Woah! He licked a butterfly? Anyone got a link to this man actually being funny and not just a coke fuelled posh bloke trying and failing to be a cross between Keith Richards and Jonny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean?

Can't stand the Bloke. Private educated Toff who dresses like he wants to be Captain Jack Sparrow.
See his early TV appearances (Casualty) and he is anything but this cool persona he tried to give off now.
He's been sacked twice from Radio. Lets hope he gets dumped by TV as well.
He is a 24 carrot Tw*t.

You are aware that he is also on TV?
What I mean is he's an a55hole and hopefully he won't return to our screens.
Can't make it much simpler than that.
edit - The product of private education? Ha, his parents were ripped off!

Unless you meant that he is some sort of vegetable. Thinking about it now, you probably did

I am pretty sure he has a lot more money in the bank then you, I am sure he has had more *** then you will ever have and I would also guess he is funnier then you will ever be, so your statement falls on its head really don't you think?

How does my statement fall on its head? He's a pr1ck who has more than me? There are a million people who have more than me yet they may or may not be pr1cks. I don't have to look any further than SNet itself to find those in either camp
Pretty much makes your statement fall on its head.

How? What I said was fact. You implied that his private education wasn't worth his parent’s money, contrary to the fact he is a very successful guy with a rather large listening/viewers base.
Course you would, if the chance to make several hundred thousands of pounds a year arouse and all you had to do was take on a different persona, you would obviously turn down the offer.

Other people receive private education and actually do something useful with it. His talent is hardly useful, lucrative maybe.
If thats how you wish to make your living then carry on and I wish you well in your new endeavor

By the way, he is far from a toff, he comes from Grays, Essex, was brought up in a broken home and the private education you love to knock him for was a 3 year stint at a drama academy which was funded by a council scholarship. Hardly a privileged background.
But then again, he does talk all posh with big words n that so he must be some soughta poofta toff. [sic]

Doesn't interest me where he came from, he's not funny. The stunt on his show was juvenile humour at best, at worst a criminal act.
Ross is the same. Ross' TV show is nothing more than a publicity stunt for Jonathan Ross. He became famous for not being able to pronounce the letter R, now he's famous for saying f@ck a lot on TV. Brilliant!!
Couple of tw@ts both of them. Good riddance.

Well - I DID watch Ponderland after the recent furore.
I have never seen or heard anything of Brand before that.
In my personal opinion he was very funny indeed, I laughed out loud several times.
He'll be back soon enough

I'm glad that this whole thing might at least open him up to some new people who will appreciate him.
A couple of other forums I go on have this kudos system, if we had it on here I'd give you some!

He,s the latest "must have" comedian ! lol
Just as Ali G did the rounds years ago, it becomes fashionable to jump on the "best thing since sliced bread bandwagon",
Anyone who dares to suggest otherwise is branded "uncool, out of touch narrow minded etc"
They then run in this PR bathed pool that keeps them ""hyped"" into believing there own dream, when the dream begins to fade, they start doing outrageous things to keep themselves back in the media,
ive never found him funny, and to be honest wouldn't give him the time of day.
there seems to be a current crop of these so called up and coming comedians who are neither funny or entertaining.
Mart
