Quantum of Solace.....
Who's off to see this tonight then? I am and can't wait!
Not expecting it to be quite as good as Casino Royale but it looks like there'll be plenty of action (wrote off 14 Astons filming this apparently!)

Don't take this the wrong way, but it makes me laugh when comments like that are made. The great unwashed haven't seen it, and critics aren't real people, so who the heck can say it's average? I prefer to make my own mind up, or ask people I know, at least I get a realistic answer from my mates.

I've just got back from the 5pm showing.... and.... it's very average!
Seriously... no gadgets, no real plot, no great villians... just lots of fights, explosions and killing (trust me that sounds good but in reality it isn't great!).

I agree, I'll only go if the missus insists, otherwise I'll wait for it to show up on Sky. Our multiplex has crap sound, uncomfortable seats, poor picture quality with LCD based projector of some sort, as you can see the pixels, I think the last time I went it was about £8 each, and is freezing cold when it isn't busy or boiling hot and full of popcorn rustling, sms sending, talking, giggling chav wanabees. Bah humbug.

That's what Mark Kermode said in his review.
..."a Jason Statham movie with Daniel Craig"

Went to see this at the late showing last night.
Very dissapointed, no gadgets, no plot and seemed very slow in places.
I hope Daniel Craig does a few more as I think he's an awesome bond but he was let down by the rest of the team in this one.
One thing I did notice, they've tried so very hard to be a bit Jason Bourne with the fight scenes and have failed miserably.
Over all rating 6/10

I liked it.
Craig was superb in it. I was a bit worried they'd changed things too much and thrown the baby out with the bath water.
As a direct follow up to what happened in Casino Royale it works pretty well but as a stand alone James Bond film I'm not sure if it'll satisfy the average punter.
Bond is hell bent on vengance and revenge. If you're familiar with Casino Royale then you'll probably get more out of it.
I certainly dont think they should use this director again and I dont get the impression he really understands what James Bond's all about.
With the next one I would hope they'll go back to more traditional Bond territory.
But again, Craig was excellent

It was ok - really didn't like the fast cuts in the action scenes, difficult to follow what was happening and just frustrating to watch tbh..
Plot was ok - not as good a casino royale.
Overall not a bad movie but not what you expect from a Bond movie..

I saw it yesterday afternoon, film was a different direction for bond but i thought the film was OK.
If you were expecting lots of gadgets then I think you will be disappointed but the film was supposed to show a different bond leaving little sections to show typical old school bond in places.
Its one for ITV to show in the future!

Bond films should be very simple. All you need is.
Sexy Girls at least one of whoom is evil but still ***** Bond. Extra bonus points if Bond uses his super **** skills to turn Evil girls good and good girls evil.
Ridiculous Villains with some freaky physical anomally or strange pet. The villans aslo have to insist on overcomplicated ways to kill Bond giving him chance to escape.
Long rambling plot with an extra action bit at the end before Bond copulates again.
Great gadgets
Bond in Aston Martin beating bad guys in lesser cars.
Witty one liners and cheesy chat up lines.
Breaking the formula is bad news.

I'm off to see it tonight. A lot of my mates said not to watch Casino Royale as they thought it was pap, I however thought it was great. I always like to see a film 1st.

Well me and grandad enjoyed it. Yes if you went not knowing it was bond, there is nothing to tell you, and boy oh boy, the Ford forums must be having fun, with all the electric and hydrogen drive cars they were promoting.
All in all though an excellent film.

Well I thought it was great. Gadgets I don't miss, all went a bit stupid with the invisible Aston.
I like the Bourne films and I like to see a bit more gritty 'realism' in a Bond film, he was just so relentless.
I'm really looking forward to the next one.

With all this Bond talk, I watched Casino Royale again last night, really enjoyed it, and Eva Green is gorgeous, as is Ivana Milicevic.
I think the parkour opening is one of the best openings of any Bond film. If you could compromise between the Bourne style and the Bond style it would be pretty unbeatable I think.

Well I enjoyed it, a little bit differant to the normal Bond stuff!!!
As above Eva Green is and I'm in
looks great in the scene prior to going to the casino, the part where she's got no make-up on. Bloomin' gorgous!!!(sp)

I think they seem to be taking Bond in a different direction from all the previous types, ie; gadgets and basically all the same stuff that happened in previous ones, I don't think its a bad thing, I quite like how they are trying to portray him, isn't it meant to be when he first joined MI6 aswell, basically raw, rebellious and rough around the edges?

Saw it last night and thought it was great.Trouble is,Bond films have to be all things to all people and with the likes of Bourne et al,audiences obviously like a more "realistic" action hero. So,i don't think the days of the gadgets being the stars of the film are the future of the Craig era.
I think Craig is becoming my favourite Bond(i grew up in the Moore age!)-He looks the part and can act too.
Oh and the advert for Max Payne looks interesting.Hopefully it will be filmed for the IMAX.

I saw this tonight and really enjoyed it, loved the Bourne-esque way the fight scenes went. Lack of gadgets wasn't an issue either but I'm sure as Bond becomes more Bond like they will be introduced more and more.

Saw it last night at the O2 - I thought it was average at best. The action stuff was really well done and I think Craig does a good job as Bond. I think the film is let down by very poor editing - especially towards the end. The baddie isn't really that bad either - in fact he is a very one dimensional character and it's hard to feel anything for him.
I don't think the venue of the 02 dome helped it either - they had generator problems which lead the film stopping twice, which was really annoying.
Have to say that average really does sum it up which is a shame.

i seen it first thing i thought was whoa turn the volume down it was mega loud with the car chase and the gun fire at the begining.
then i noticed no Q or gadgets in the film.
the action sequences are very fast paced and its hard to see whats actually going on.
some posts have said theres no plot........there is a plot but
i found it hard to keep track and understand whats going on........maybe il read up on it at the imdb........ theres secret agents working for an unknown organisation who meet up in a theatre but then how does that relate to the guy at Green Planet.
all in all the film feels quite rushed with the plot and the action so didnt get an understanding of it.
il stick to watching tellietubbies rofl
