Going to London tomorrow and have my honking great work Laptop with me, am I ok to stick it in my suitcase, not bothered about its safety but cant remember whether you can check a laptop in luggage destined for the Planes hold, I usually carry it as hand baggage and they alway take an unhealthy interest in seeing it !

yes you can, but dont put a padlock or lock your suitcase in case they want to have a look.

Oh and wrap it well to protect it
